Day P.O.V.

So yeah I'm trying really hard not to be mad right now. Eric asked my girlfriend to prom. Okay, so maybe he didn't know she was mine, but still.

We are all currently standing outside in the courtyard and he's just finished asking her. June hasn't said a word and it's been about thirty seconds.

So what happened is that he brought June, Mia, Jennifer, Charlotte, and I. Apparently he considered us to be June's best friends, so he asked us to come here.

And we all came, not really knowing why. This is really awkward.

"Uh, so... here's the... thing, Eric." June says. He looks up from his shoes nervously. I kind of almost maybe feel just a little bit bad for this guy. I mean, it's not like he knew June and I are dating. "I already have a boyfriend."

"Who?" Okay so this question doesn't make much sense considering that he doesn't really know people's names yet. He asks. June looks back at me nervously.

"The one you just asked me to prom in front of." June says trying to make this a bit more light-hearted. Yeah. It didn't work.

"I'm so sorry June. Please, I promise you that I didn't know." He says.

"Maybe you should go with Charlotte?" June says. Actually, yeah. They would make a good couple.

"Charlotte?" He asks.
"I guess going with the guy who asked your friend not knowing she's taken is better than going alone." She says. (A/ N: I swear this is probably gonna be me)

"June. Beach. Two hours." I say when she picks up the phone.

"How do you know I don't have other plans?"

"Do you have other plans?" This is important.

"Well, there's this guy I'm going to the beach with. We're kind of a thing." She says.

"That's too bad. But you see it doesn't really matter anyways because I just remembered my girlfriend and I already have plans anyways." I'm almost positive June is rolling her eyes.

"Eye roll." She says.

"You know you love me." I say tauntingly.

"Maybe just a little." She says.

"I love you too sweetheart. See you in a few hours." I hang up.

Okay there's a lot of work to do until then. Well, not really, I already have everything ready so it will mostly just be a lot of me panicking.

I sit down on the beach. Everything is ready, well I didn't really need anything I didn't already have, but I'm ready.

June walks up beside me. She sits down and leans on my side. I put an arm around her waist.

"Hey." She says.

"Hi." I say.

We sit watching the sunset for a while.
"So why did you want me to meet you here?" June asks.

"Oh yeah. I got you something."
I hand her a box about the size of a box from a clothing store. She unwraps it and then opens the box.

"Are you kidding?" She says annoyed. There's another box in it. And another in that. And so forth for about five boxes.

"Last one." I say. It's a ring box.

"Uh Day?" She says nervously.

"Just open it." I say. I had a ring custom made for this. She opens the box.

She laughs. "Yeah. Of course." She puts the ring on. It's a small silver ring that says prom? on it. "This is cute."

"Did I scare you a bit?" I ask smirking.

"No. Just a bit shocked but I'm okay now." I pull her closer to me and she spins the ring on her finger. Her dad looked like he wanted to kill me when I asked him what her ring size was.

But then I explained it, see he doesn't hate me he just thought I was doing something crazy. I mean I love June but I'm seventeen.

We walk into the school the next day. Today I have a big test in Psychics.
June and I are sitting in the library because Eden had to get to school early. There's about twenty minutes before our first hour.

"Okay so what would the force be in this situation." June says handing me a piece of paper.

"Hey guys." Mia says sitting down at our table. "Studying for Physics?"

"Yeah." June says. "I'm nervous."

"You'll do fine what's your grade in there, an A" Mia asks. Oh no. Here we
go.

"Yeah." She says disappointed. "I'm so close to an A+. It's like half a percent. I need to get an A+ on this test."

"Whoah. Calm down." Mia says.

"She's not going to calm down. She is not going to calm down unless she has
all A pluses." I say.

"That would drive me insane." Mia says.

"Yeah, well good luck convincing her of doing anything else."

"Okay then." Mia says opening her laptop.

We all study for the next ten minutes then walk to our first hour.

Mia and June have Economics and I have Gym.

••••••

The test is really hard. I mean I studied quite a bit for it and I'm still lost.
What is linear momentum? (A/ N: Honestly no idea if that's an advanced or really basic physics thing I just looked up physics terms)

At least I know that one. What class is June in right now? Oh yeah. Spanish.
I don't have Spanish until sixth hour. This is my second hour.

I pass my paper in at the bell and walk to third hour, Psychology, which I have with June.

I set my things down at my table and walk over to June.

"Hey. How was the test?" She asks.

"Hard but you'll be fine."

"Okay." She says. "What about Econ?"

"We just watched a video of this social experiment. Nothing interesting. There's a worksheet on it." The bell rings and I go over to my table.

"Okay so today we'll be learning about..." I zone out.

Lunch is going to be interesting to say the least. Eric just asked June to prom yesterday.

Sure Charlotte agreed to go with him but in all honesty I think she was just being nice.

We sit down at our usual spot and Jennifer seems off, but then again I don't know her very well.

"Jen you okay?" Mia asks. I was right.

"Yeah. It's just. Yeah." She says. She seems zoned out.

"Okay. I know you can hide your emotions from everyone else but we've been best friends for years. What is it?"

"Nothing Mia. Just let it go." June looks over at me and I shrug. She frowns.

Mia and Jennifer leave the cafeteria. This is weird.

I don't understand and I'm not going to pretend I do but this doesn't seem good.
