"I found her in the woods outside the village gates," a man's voice says. It's that man who I met in the forest. Izumo, I think his name was. "When we were close to the village, she just, fell asleep or something."

"Do you know the patient's name?" a woman's voice asked.

"No, she didn't say her name. I told you, she didn't even talk in the woods or on the way here."

"My name is Iris," I say. My throat feels dry and my eyelids feel heavy. I've probably been sleeping for a while.

This time when I woke up, my body was laying on something softer than the ground of a forest. It was the feeling of a soft mattress and cotton sheets. I opened my eyes to see a white tiled ceiling with small lights spread around the ceiling. I realized I was in a hospital. The smell of medicines and gloves and sadness were familiar to me.

"Oh, she's awake," the woman said. I turned my head to see a lady in a nurse uniform. Her black hair was tied back in a neat bun and had the bluest eyes I've ever seen. She also had the sweetest smile I've ever seen.

"Where am I?" I asked, looking out the window by my bed.

"Oh, you're in Konoha, the Village Hidden in the Leaves."

I furrowed my eyebrows and looked at her strangely. I've never heard of such a name in my entire life.

"Well, she seems fine," I hear Izumo say. He's already making his way out the door. "I better go report this to the Hokage."

I sit up in my bed, but I did it too quickly. It feels like I'm being stabbed by a thousand sewing needles at the same time. The pretty nurse holds my upper back and arm to help me sit up.

"Woah, take it easy," she says. "You don't wanna move too fast while you're still recovering. I'm Akari. I'll be taking care of you in the little time you have left here. What did you say your name was again?"

She finished that last sentence with a small smile. "It's Iris," I reply.

"Iris, what a pretty name." She picked up a clipboard and starts writing. I'll just assume she's writing my name. "Okay, stay here. I'm going to get you a meal. You must be starving."

As she leaves the room, my stomach rumbles. It feels like a Kentucky Derby is taking place inside my stomach. She wasn't lying about me being hungry.

I sigh lightly as I stare back out the window. The sky is different now. It's the evening. The sun is setting and beautiful shades of orange and yellow paint the evening sky. What a beautiful sight.

Akari returns to the room with a food tray in both of her hands and places it in front of me. "Eat up." She smiled and patted my head before she left the room.

I look down at my meal and I could barely name anything on the tray. I could recognize the ramen, but it had a boiled egg and green stuff in it. Then there was a bowl of rice and vegetables. And one small cup of tea. I guess this is what they eat here.

I look for eating utensils but i only find chopsticks and a big spoon. When I pick up the chopsticks, I examine them while figuring out how to use them. I put one between my index finger and middle finger and the other one between my middle and ring finger. I try using my thumb to move the chopstick towards the other so it could grab at least one noodles, but it just slipped out of my fingers.

I sigh again and slump my shoulders in defeat. I'm probably better off just using this big spoon.
