I reached the 'X' on the map the morning after meetibng Diona. I showed up at a boating dock wearing the laced black cloak Diona left me, and the black sunglasses and headscarf left to me by Aiko. My bag and my new cat, Nyla, tucked under each arm. I could only imagine what these people must be thinking seeing a small girl wearing all black while the sun is out here shining bright. Maybe when I get a better disguise I won't look like I'm going to attend a funeral.
I found a bench in front of the boardwalk and rested my bag to my side while Nyla rested in my lap. "Boarding for this ship to Yuko island will depart in five minutes!" a tall, broad man exclaimed. "Last minute passengers need to show me their tickets before the ship departs!"
After days on my way to this point marked on the map that Aiko gave to me, I only just realized she didn't give me any further instructions on what I would do once I got here. She must have trusted me to figure this out myself, which may have been a mikstake on her part, since I didn't realize I had a full and proper escape plan till now.
I looked around the dock and saw there were other boats and ships there, but I had no idea when they would be leaving. Maybe I should get on this ship, or take a chance on a different one. Decisions decisions.
"Come on, fellas. The ship for Yuko island is leaving soon," a man ordered to what seemed like his four henchmen. He was tall and slim, dressed quite lavishly, wearing bulky gold rings a walking cane that he obviously didn't need. He basically looks like a pimp. "Ah, hurry it up, Hideki! I need that trunk on the ship right now! I don't pay you to slack off like this!"
Hideki...
A teen boy with black hair and green eyes trailed behind the bigger men. "Sir, I don't get paid at all." This boy... he's Aiko's son. And this guy must've have been the one who stole him from her5 for all these years.
The pimp-looking man must not have liked this very much. He nodded at one of his henchmen, who then smacked the chest out of Hideki's hands and struck him across his face. A gasp escaped my mouth as Hideki hit the ground.
"One would think that after all these years you'd learn how to control your mouth," the pimp man said. "Get up and get busy with bringing that chest onto the ship before it departs."
The henchmen followed their leaders and left Hideki behind, still struggling to bring the chest to the ship. I stood up and tucked my bag and Nyla under my arms and started towards the ship entrance where the tall broad man still stood.
"Ticket please," the man order in a low, gruffy voice.
I pulled my glasses down slightly to show my eyes. "You're gonna let me onto this ship without a ticket."
His intimidating stance and face disappeared. "Welcome aboard." I placed my glassed back up to my eyes as I walked onto the ship. I caught Hideki's black hair going down a flight of stairs, presumably to a lower level that has private rooms. "Two minutes left to board!" I heard the man yell.
Two of the pimp's henchmen were guarding the entrance to the lower level Hideki disappeared into. The ship's captains were on the top deck ending their small talk with the passangers to get ready to let the ship sail. But there's only two minutes before this ship sets sail, putting more distance between Hideki and Aiko. I have to find a way to create more time before the ship takes off and get him out of the grasp of this evil pimp.
Without much thought, and no clear plan, I approached one of the henchmen and pulled down my glasses slightly. "Fight him," I order, nodding towards his other henchman buddy. I turned to him and threw a punch at him. From then, the two got into a full brawl, getting the attention of the passangers and the captains themselves.
