We had to take a boat to get to our next destination. I was so worried about the boat tipping over and falling in the water and drowning for a second time. I think I've developed a fear of large bodies of water.
While on the boat, Tazuna revealed to us who was after him and why he lied. A deadly business man named Gato is scared that Tazuna's new bridge will make him lose his power in the Land of Waves when the bridges meets the island and the mainland. Before that could happen, Gato wants Tazuna to be killed. He ends up guilt tripping us by bringing up his daughter and grandson, who would be devastated if he were to die. Sneaky old man.
As we walked through the forest, Naruto threw a kunai at a bush, making us believe someone was following us. But no one was even there.
"Stop it, Naruto," I say impatiently. "You're making me anxious."
It didn't seem like Naruto was listening, and he threw another knife into another bush, nearly hitting a poor little bunny.
"Oh no!" Naruto exclaimed worriedly. "I'm so sorry little guy. I didn't mean to."
I stood there and shook my head in disappointment.
"Look out!" Kakashi yelled, interrupting our little scene. We looked up to see a large spinning sword soaring through the air, moving fast in our direction. We all dropped to the ground on our stomachs. The large sword was wedged into a tree trunk.
A tall, shirtless man with cow-print accessories on his legs and arms stood on the handle. His mouth was covered in bandages and had a ninja headband on his forehead, but it wasn't the same one as ours.
"Well, well," Kakashi says. "If it isn't Zabuza Momochi. The rogue ninja from the village hidden in the mist."
Naruto dashed towards the new ninja, Zabuza, but was stopped my our sensei. "Stay back. You'll only get in the way."
"But why?" Naruto complained.
"He's not like the other ninja. He's in a whole other league. If he's our opponent, I'm going to need this."
Kakashi lifted his headband that covered his left eye. He had a long scar running down from his eyebrow to his cheekbone. He revealed a red colored eye with three comma like shapes around his pupil.
"Kakashi of the sharingan," our new enemy, Zabuza says. "Did I get that right? Anyways, I'm gonna need you to hand over the old man."
"Everyone, protect the bridge builder and stay out of this fight. I taught you teamwork, now use it."
"It's an honor. I get to see the sharingan in action."
What the hell is a sharingan?
"Can someone please tell me what a sharingan is?" Naruto asks. At least now I don't have to ask.
"The sharingan," Sasuke says. "A rare power that resides is the eye. The doujutsu can see and comprehend any genjutsu, taijutsu, or ninjutsu, and reflect the attack back on the attacker. It's a very rare and powerful jutsu, but there's much more to the sharingan than that."
So basically, the eye can see their opponent's attacks, copy it, and use it against them. I would love to see what that can do. And what other information there is about it.
"You got it right boy," Zabuza adds. "But you've only scratched the surface. The sharingan can analyze and copy another person's jutsu to the smallest detail." A thick fog covered the area, making it difficult to see through. "My village's bingo book says you're the man who's copied over 1000 justu. Kakashi the copy ninja. Now that's enough talking. Time for me to exterminate the old man."
Sasuke, Sakura, Naruto and I surrounded Tazuna, holding kunai in our hands. I'll admit that I'm very scared. I knew this world was a dangerous one, and that terrifying people like him could appear at any moment. If we ever have to battle this man, or any other person like him, I could actually die. I'm not strong like the others.
My knife is wobbly in my hands. My arms are shaking violently from nervousness, fear, and anticipation. Zabuza appeared standing on the water, and disappeared. The fog started becoming thicker and thicker, causing Kakashi sensei to vanish from our sight.
"Eight points," Zabuza's voice says from around us, but him himself is no where to be seen. "Larynx, spine, lungs, liver, jugular, subclavian artery, kidneys, heart. Which one will be my kill point?"
The last line made a quick small gasp escape my lips and all of my movements stopped. I was frozen in place. Chills ran through my entire body. He was actually ready to kill us, no matter what.
I inhale and exhale slowly to calm myself. I had to prepare myself defend against any attacks, to protect myself and my colleagues. If I go down, I might as well put up a fight. After my breathing steadies and my muscles relax, I get back into a fighting position. Next to me, Sasuke was shaking uncontrollably. He turned his kunai in his hand, making the sharp end point towards him.
"Sasuke," I whisper. Breathe. Slowly. Just breathe. Everything will be okay. Kakashi sensei will protect us, no matter what."
He started at me, and surprising, his eyes were filled with fear. "She's right, Sasuke," Kakashi sensei said. "I will never let my comrades die. Trust me."
I smile at our sensei's back, but my smile instantly went away when I heard, "Are your sure about that?" come from behind us. Zabuza managed to get in between us and the bridge builder.
Kakashi sensei attacked, and the rest of us jumped out of the way. Kakashi stabbed what we thought was Zabuza, but it was actually a water clone. The real attacker came up behind Kakashi and sliced him with his large sword, but it was also a water clone and became a puddle on the ground. All of these clones are making me confused.
Now the real Kakashi sensei was behind the real Zabuza. His kunai was pointed at his neck. "It's over."
