Intimidate
Matapos magapaiwan ni Neo sa clinic, pumunta ako sa canteen. I'm already half an hour late to our second class kaya hindi na lang ako papasok.
"Isang mineral water nga po." Sabi ko sa cashier. I'm tired. Nagmula pa ako sa gym clinic at pumunta dito sa canteen.
The whole canteen was vacant dahil nasa classes naman lahat ng students ngayon. May mga dumadaan na mga students pero kadalasan naman ay mga players.
I was about to drink water nang tumunog ang phone ko. It was a message from Wendy.
From: Wendy
Saan ka? Class already ended because of a meeting. Nasa gym ka pa?
Agad akong nagreply.
To: Wendy
Canteen, Wends.
Kaya pala marami na rin ang dumadaan. I thought it's just cutting classes but classes actually ended.
In just a few minutes, I saw Wendy entering the canteen. But I'm shocked with who she is with.
"You didn't attend second period. Pero andoon naman si Kiro. Where have you been?" Tanong ni Wendy at umupo sa harapan ko. Nanatili namang nakatayo si Kiro. He was wearing his jersey the last time I saw him but now he's wearing the school uniform although his hair is still wet from either sweat or he had taken a bath before coming to class.
"Sinamahan ko pa kasi si Neo. The nurse allowed me to for about 30 minutes. Dumiretso na ako ng canteen, I'm already late for class, after all." I kept my head down. Ayaw kong tingnan si Kiro.
"Oh? Something happened?" Nagulat ako sa tanong niya. I thought Kiro told her. But why is Kiro here, by the way?
"Um, yeah. Sports accident. Neo's fine." I looked at Kiro. He's just standing there with his poker face. His two hands in both of his slacks' pockets. He was looking all around the canteen while his headphones are tucked to his ear. This guy is just damn intimidating wherever he goes!
"Wendy?" Lumapit pa ako sa kanya. "What is Kiro doing here?"
"Oh! He was also looking for you earlier. I don't know why." Nilingon niya si Kiro. "Kiro, you're looking for Julia, right?"
Nilingon naman kami ni Kiro. "Yeah. But I heard na nasa clinic lang si Neo. I was just looking for him. I'll go now." At agad umalis.
"Okay. Bye." Binalewala ni Wendy si Kiro at kinain ang dalang sandwich. "Hey! He's gone now."
"Thank God! Kanina pa nakakaintimidate yung lalaking yun eh." Inis kong sabi. Nagulo ko na ang buhok ko, damn!
"Seriously? You're always intimidated pag andiyan siya. What's new?" Patuloy niyang kinakain ang sandwich.
"I really hate that guy." Bulong ko.
"No, girl. You love him." At sinabayan pa ng tawa ng lintek kong kaibigan.
