After our midterm for the circuits class on Friday, Victoria asked if I wanted to meet up on the weekend to work on our lab report that's due on Monday. I said 'sure, why not?' And to my surprise, she even offered to drive to the public library close to my house to save me the trouble of coming to school (I had told her I lived an hour's bus ride away from school).

I was very grateful for her making the effort to come to my side of town. I told her I'd bring lots of food so we can finish the report in one day.

So when I got up this morning, I was mentally prepared to spend the whole day at the library.I packed some mandarin oranges from the kitchen, along with some corn, and a giant bottle of green tea. Then, I stopped by the nearby Safeway and bought a bag of Crispers, Rice Cakes, and chocolate almonds (my favourite) before going to the library.

Victoria was not there when I arrived. She said she had gone to cycle in the morning and then yoga, so it may take her a while to get here. As I waited, I decided to study for my water resources class midterm this upcoming Tuesday.

It was another sunny autumn day. The library had giant floor-to-ceiling windows that let in the warm afternoon sunlight. It made my computer screen hard to see and I had to bump up the brightness. But it also meant I was quite cozy and warm instead of my usual state of always being cold.

There were about six to eight people sitting in the area around me, so everything was also nice and quiet as well. Overall, I was just in a great mood and so glad to have survived the past week.

When Victoria finally arrived, about thirty minutes later, we got right down to work. Basically, we had to answer a set of questions related to what we did in the lab last Monday.

While we worked, I put the bag of Crispers on the table and the two of us munched on it while working. We ended up finishing the whole bag. As for the report, it turns our the questions were easier than we thought, and the entire thing took us less than an hour to finish!

Needless to say, we were so relieved and happy to have that done and over with.

"Now I can study for my next midterm," I told Victoria.

"That's good! Now I don't know what to do." She told me, half joking and half serious.

This is a common occurrence in university, I found. After weeks of being so busy with assignments and exams, the moment you find yourself with nothing to hand in and nothing to study for, you are at a loss of what to do with your life.

She ended up calling another friend who graduated last year to go shopping with her. As for me, I stayed behind until the library closed.

On another note, I realized I have been spending a lot of time with Victoria lately. I don't know if that makes us good friends yet but I think she is a cool person to hang out with.

Addie also texted and complained that we barely hang out anymore. I had known this would happen as soon as she got a boyfriend but what can I do? She is not going to choose me over the boyfriend and I didn't expect her to. I also hate third-wheeling couples so I just stick with the rest of my single girlfriends. I wish I knew the best way to deal with this but I don't. Life is hard like that I guess... maybe I'll figure these things out with time.
