This week, all the undergrads at the university get the whole week off to rest, relax, and catch up on homework. The break was created to help reduce stress levels during midterms season, which I am so grateful for. But since I had to defer my electrical circuits exam from last semester because I got sick, it also means I have to rewrite it this week. So I spent the first four days of my break studying non-stop.
And let me tell you it was a difficult four days. I isolated myself in the house. Didn't go out to see friends and did nothing except for eating, sleeping, studying, and one hour a day walking Oreo.
The hardest part is probably trying to concentrate on the same subject for more than eight hours a day. I occasionally cracked and spent a few hours watching the winter Olympics. Besides figure skating, I found a new love for the slope-style sports with snowboarding and skiing. It made me really want to go skiing as the last time I went was back in 2016.
The electrical circuits exam was yesterday morning and I was quite pleased with how it went. We were allowed to bring a double-sided page of notes to the exam and I used my paper to cram as many notes as possible in the smallest font. Making the page took a long time and I wrote until my hand was cramping. But it was totally worth it and I feel like I could at least get a B+ or even A- in this class - something I rarely in difficult courses like circuits.
After the exam finished, it felt like a giant weight has been lifted off my shoulders and I am back to enjoying the normal life. I took Oreo on long walks and lounged around the house all morning listening to a Cheryl Strayed audiobook. I even made a smoothie which I haven't done in weeks!
As for the rest of the week, I still have a lot of homework and notes to catch up to. My engineering law midterm is next Tuesday and the project for my construction class is also due on Tuesday.
I am also rewriting the research proposal again to submit before the deadline next Wednesday. I found that taking some time away from the project after its failure has helped me rejuvenate and now I am full of ideas on what I want to write. I will be heading to the lab tomorrow to work on it. Hopefully, I can finish it before I have to meet up with Stella. Homegirl and I are going thrift shopping after she gets off work and I just can't wait!
