Titanic; What If Jack Lived? (Completed)

(16) 8 Months Later

       8 Months had passed since Rose was in the hospital.  She had already been allowed back at work and continued to keep working from then til her seventh month.  Since she was put on bed rest at her seventh month she is currently sleeping in her room.  Little does she know, Jack had been planning a surprise baby shower for her all night and morning.  He had vacuumed the rug, washed the windows and dishes, and set up a few chairs and tables.  He sent out invitations a few weeks earlier.  They only had three friends, but they did not want anything too big anyways.  Before Rose woke up, Jack made a cake, along with some hors d'oeuvres for the guest.  He was finishing up just as Fabrizio, Helga, and Carlos arrived.  They all came in and sat down.  Jack placed the food on the table along with plates and cutlery and he went to get Rose.  "Goodmorning darling!" He greeted her.  She groaned , "I'm tired Jack!" She complained.  "But, I have a surprise for you!" Jack admitted.  "Really?" Rose said more excited.  She got up and put on a loose maternity dress and combed her hair.  She then brushed her teeth and washed up a bit.  She spritz on her favorite perfume and applied her eye liner and blush.  Then she made her way into the main living room to see her friends.  "Oh my goodness! What is all this? Hello guys!" She exclaimed.  "Surprise!" They all shouted.  "You're about to pop, huh?" Helga said.  Rose  chuckled and put her hand on top of her large baby bump.  She wobbled over to the couch and struggled to sat down.  Everyone laughed at her, including herself.  Jack made a plate of food, and cake for her to snack on, and everyone else got their own.

       "So, now that we're all here, how's about telling us the gender?" Carlos said.  Rose and Jack looked at each other in excitement.  "Oh my goodness, we found out the fifth month, and I have been telling everyone, even strangers! How could I ever forget to tell you three?" Rose exclaimed.  "So, We're having a" she paused.  She looked at Jack again and in unison they both shouted, "BOY!".  Everyone smiled and laughed in excitement.  "Aw that is great to hear, have you thought of any names yet?"  Fabrizio asked.  "Well, we like Leonardo a lot so we're probably going to stick with that one."  Rose gushed.  They all smiled.  After an hour hours they began to play a game called, guess the flavor.  For this, they had a few cans of baby food they had to try and guess the kind it is.  It was Helga and Rose, versus Jack and Fabrizio.  Carlos was keeping score.  "Okay, first can, are you ready? GO!" Yelled Helga.  She scooped a spoonful into Rose's mouth, and Fabrizio did Jack.  "Banana!" They yelled in unison. They both got it correct.  "SO far, you're tied" Said Carlos.  "Next!" said Helga.  They scooped another spoonful into Rose and Jack's mouth.  "Ew!" Said Rose "Greenbeens!" She added.  Jack had guessed peas but Rose had gotten this one right.  After a few more rounds, they did all the cans and Carlos had tallied it up.  "The winners are" He paused and did his own drum roll "Helga and Rose!"  Carlos said.  "Must be because of the baby." Rose teased.

       They all sat down to take a break from the game and began talking.  "I'm going to excuse myself to the restroom for a moment." Jack said as he left the room.  The conversation carried on while Jack was in the bathroom.  Jack had been checking himself to make sure his appearance was still appropriate.  Normally, he wouldn't care as much, but today was a special day for him.  He combed his hair back again, applying more gel for structure, and brushed himself off.  He spritzed on some more cologne, and re-brushed his teeth for a more appearing charming smile.  Then, he stood there and stared at himself for a moment.  He reached into his pocket and pulled out a little black box.  He opened it up to see a huge diamond ring.  "I'm going to make you my wife, Rose." He said to himself.  He put the box back into his pocket and made his way back to the guests.  "So, I think it is time for gifts now!" Jack announced.  "Let us go first!" Shouted Helga.  Rose grabbed Helga's gift and began opening it.  Inside was a few baby bottles, binky's and cute clothes for the baby.  "Thank you, this is adorable!" Rose and Jack thanked her.  Fabrizio got them a box of diapers.  Carlos got them a few boxes of diapers, clothes and bed spreads for the baby's crib.  "Thank you so much everyone, these gifts will be so helpful to our baby's life.  

       "That's not all Rose, there is one more thing." Jack said.  Everyone looked at him confused.  He walked in front of Rose and then got down on one knee.  He reached back into his pocket and removed the box once more.  Everyone in the room already began gasping and getting excited.  "Rose, since the day I met you, I knew I was in love.  I was willing to die for you the first time we ever talked.  I would still die for you, and now for our little angel.  You are the piece to complete me, and I don't know where I would be with out you, but where ever I go, you make my days better.  I wasn't planning on having a baby just yet, but I am glad that we are, as long as  it is with you. I love you so much Rose." He announced while opening the box, "with that being said, Rose, will you marry me?" Jack asked, nervously.  Everyone can be heard in the back chanting "Say yes! Say yes!".  "Yes Jack, oh my goodness, this is beautiful!"  Rose said, tears rolling down her cheeks as Jack put the ring on Rose's finger.  Rose and Jack both stood up, and Jack lightly kissed Rose. "I love you!" They said in unison.
