Grateful (Pt 1/3)

Rose propped up in terror and Jack immediately rose to his feet. "What are you doing here?" Jack angrily but quietly said. "I've come to see my baby. There is just no way this child is yours." Cal said. "You and my wife weren't sleeping together at the time that she would have been pregnant." Cal added. "Well, for one, she isn't and never was your wife. Don't refer to her as that again. Secondly, she and I slept together on the ship. Right before you accused me of stealing the diamond. Little did you know, I was too busy stealing your girl." Jack replied with sass. Cal face went from evilly smirking to complete rage. "What is this you speak of? I don't believe a word you say. You're just some poor boy who wants the money that I gave Rose." Cal replied in a jealous and angry tone. "I don't need your money, Cal. Jack and I make our own money. And he actually loves me. You just wanted a pretty face by your side and you couldn't get it." Rose added. Cal was full of so much anger right now. He looked around the room and rushed over to Leo. Jack followed and tried to rush in front of the crib. Cal used all of his force and pushed Jack to the floor all the way on the other side of the hospital room. Cal studied Leo's face. "He doesn't even look like me. I cannot believe you betrayed me Rose. And with him." Cal grabbed the water jug from on top of the hospital table and whipped it across the room. Jack stood up "Get away from our son, Cal. I'm not going to let you push us around." Jack said, anger filling his voice. "Oh shut up poor boy. You're input never mattered to anyone." Cal demanded. Jack rushed over and pinned Cal against the wall with a lot of force. This shocked Cal. Rose pushed the button to alarm the nurses. Cal managed to push Jack off of him and onto the floor. He raised him hand back and formed a fist. Carlos walked in with the dress and saw Cal about to punch Jack. He laid the dress on the other hospital bed and jumped in to save Jack. He pushed Cal off of him and helped Jack up. A nurse quickly rushed in and saw everything going on. She called two other nurses in after them. "Sir, you need to leave. Now" They said to Cal. Cal stood up, slicked his hair back and stepped close to Carlos. "Sir." One nurse spoke up. Cal looked at the nurse with disgust. He rolled his eyes and made his way out.

"Jeez, what was his deal?" Carlos asked. "He thought the baby was his with being Rose's ex and all." Jack said. Carlos shook his head. "Wow man, I'm sorry." He sympathetically replied. "It's okay, as long as my baby and Rose are okay. I will always protect them. Oh, and did you bring the thing?" Jack asked referring to the dress. Carlos smiled and signaled Jack to look over to the other hospital bed. "Ah, okay. Thanks Carlos. For the dress and having my back." Jack said to Carlos. Carlos smiled and nodded. "Well, I'm off to go look at some other things for tomorrow." Carlos told Jack. "I'm going to take a nap, you might be bored here while Leo and I sleep. Why don't you join Carlos, darling?" Rose suggested. Jack looked at Carlos, "Do you mind?" he politely asked. "Not at all, we can go together." Carlos smiled and replied. Jack made his way over to Rose and pecked her on the lips. "I love you, honey. I'll be back soon, okay?" Jack assured her. Rose smiled and blushed. "I love you too, Jack." She softly replied. Jack smiled and then walked over to Leo. "I love you, baby boy. Daddy will be back soon." Jack whispered as he pecked him on the forehead and then returned over to a smiling Carlos. "Ready?" Jack asked. Carlos nodded, "Yep!" He said. The two made their way out of the hospital room and began walking down the hall to the elevators. "Oh, one second" Jack blurted out and rushed over to the desk where the nurses were. "Make sure to keep an eye on my wife please? I will only be gone a few hours and I don't want that man to return while I am gone." Jack politely demanded. He added a friendly smile as the nurse nodded and agreed to watch her and Leo. He then made his way back over to Carlos.

The elevators in the hospital were similar to those in Titanic. They all had someone on them to elevate them up or down. "You and Rose have such a beautiful love." Carlos said. "I care about her and love her more than anything." Jack said. "That's why I am so grateful you showed up when you did. That man is evil. Always has been." Jack said. "I don't know if I've ever told you the story of him before but he and Rose were engaged to be married in New York when the Titanic docked. But he never treated her right. In fact, it wasn't even her choice to be with him. Her whole mood changed every time we were around them. She wasn't herself because she was so unhappy." Jack began explaining. "He sounds evil, but what else did he do to her?" Carlos intriguingly asked. "Well, he put his hands on her if she did or said something he either didn't like or didn't agree with. His way of apologizing to her was to buy her things. She isn't even materialistic either so she never wore or used anything he bought her. He did have his good moments, but he made her more unhappy than he made her happy. She felt very lonely even while being surrounded by tons of people including her mother and Cal. Until she met me. When I stopped her from committing suicide" Carlos cut Jack off, "Oh, she told me that story." He said. "Oh, well, after that, we clicked. I fell for her the moment I saw her, I didn't expect anything to come from it, but it must have been fate. I guess I just filled the voids that Cal couldn't. It angers him, but I don't care, because my only priority now is to make her happy and take care of her and Leo." Jack said with passion. "Well, I would have done the same thing in your situation. He shouldn't even dare look down on you. You're more of a man than he is." Carlos encouraged Jack. "Thank you Carlos. You're a great friend. You've always been there in times of trouble." Jack said gratefully.

After the elevator made it to the first floor, they both made their way out of the elevator and to Carlos's car. "Well, I was thinking we could stop at the super market and pick a cake out, and then to the florist to pick out some flowers." Carlos told Jack. "Now that you have the opportunity to come with me, it actually makes this much easier." Carlos chuckled and told Jack. Jack laughed quietly, "I'll help you out. Do you mind if we stop somewhere to get a tuxedo, I had been worrying about making tomorrow so perfect for Rose, that I forgot to also prepare myself for the wedding." Jack laughed "Of course!" Carlos told him

They left the hospital and began driving to their first stop; The supermarket. It only took them about 10 minutes to get there. Once they got there, Jack began thinking of the other things he made need. He knew he needed to grab plates, cups, cutlery, and a few different options of food. They first made their way over to the bakery. "We need to get an all white cake, and the writing has to be red. red is Rose's favorite color, coincidentally." Jack said. Carlos found it adorable how much Jack admired Rose and made everything about her. Jack picked out a medium sized white cake with red roses on either side. He picked out a groom and bride cake topper as well and put both items into the car. He then made his way over to the prepared food section and Carlos followed. They both looked around for something to buy for food. Since there was only going to be a total of five people, Jack and Rose included, they didn't need to go all out with food. "How about some rotisserie chicken with a pre made salad and macaroni?" Carlos suggest as he held a rotisserie chicken in his hand. Jack looked over to him and smiled, "That's brilliant Carlos! Thank you!" Jack gleefully replied. Carlos set the chicken in the cart and went on to grab the macaroni as Jack picked out the salad and grabbed small packets of different dressing to go with the salad. Jack also grabbed some soda, along with a jug of water and put those in the cart. "Last thing we need is plates, cups and cutlery!" Jack said as they rushed to the table settings aisle. Jack grabbed a package of cups, a package of plates, and a box of cutlery and put them in the cart. Once they finished grabbing everything they needed, they made their way to the checkout and paid for everything. They then made their way out to the car and put their bags in the back of the car. "We should do the tuxedo next so the flowers will be fresher." Jack suggested. Carlos nodded his head as they both got into the car and made their way over to a bridal shop.

They arrived to a small shopping center which included both the bridal shop, and the florist shop. "Do you want to get a bouquet of roses, while I grab the rings and my tuxedo?" Jack politely asked. "That's a great idea!" Carlos replied and they split up to both do their separate shopping.

Jack rushed into the bridal shop and picked out two wedding bands for himself and for Rose. Then he tried on multiple tuxedo's until he finally found the right one. However, he needed a second opinion. Carlos was picking out the most beautiful bouquet of Roses he had seen and then made his way to meet Jack in the bridal shop. "Thank goodness you're here Carlos. I know it sounds weird, but I need you to tell me if I look good in this. I've got to look my best for Rose on our special day." Jack told Carlos. Carlos laughed "Don't worry, I understand!" Carlos said. "I think you look great, Jack, but she will also love the way you look in any suit." Carlos said. Jack smiled and purchased the rings and the suit. They made their way to the car and back to the hospital. Now that they had finished buying all necessary things, Carlos was going to drop Jack back off at the hospital and then go home to put the cake and food in the fridge.

It took them about 25 minutes to get back to the hospital. "Thank you for coming with me today, I was happy to have your help." Carlos politely said. "You're welcome, Carlos, and thank you as well for everything. I would be lost with out you, Fabrizio and Helga these days. You're all great!" Jack said. They both smiled at each other and Jack got out of the car and waved at Carlos as he drove off. Jack then made his way into the hospital to return to Rose and Leo.

******* Hello readers. Let me start by briefly apologizing. This chapter was supposed to be up by 11. However, I have a very reasonable explanation and that is that I had a death in my family today. Although, a promise is a promise, and because I'm just about two hours late, I have decided to make this chapter longer. And it is longer than this due to the fact that this is part 1 of two of this chapter. I hope you can all forgive me for being a bit late.
