"Rose! Rose, I'm falling! I can't get on... help me!" Jack mumbled as he began moving abruptly in his sleep. Tossing and turning, Jack was burning up while having a horrible night mare.
---Jacks Dream--
-Jack keeps reaching for the floating debris that had been holding Rose on top of it. Every time he gripped it, he found himself slipping away. Rose was holding his hand, but he also slipped away from her. "Rose, don't let go! I don't want to drown!" he shouted. "I'll never let go Jack, I promise!" Rose said, tears filling her eyes. Jack lost hold of her hand and the debris completely and began falling under the surface of the ocean. He kept kicking and reaching for the top but it just kept growing darker and darker.-
--Jack wakes up--
Jack shot up from his sleep drenched in sweat due to his terrible dream. Rose rolled over in bed and was woken up by all of Jack's movement. She sat up next to him and placed her hand on his back. "What happened, love? What's wrong?" She sincerely asked in a worried tone. "Just a nightmare, darling. I'll be fine." Jack forced a smirk on his face and looked Rose in her eyes. He planted a kiss on her forehead, "I'm going to go to the bathroom, you go back to sleep okay?" He assured her. She smiled in his direction, still feeling half asleep and laid back down. Almost instantly, she drifted back to sleep.
Jack got up and covered Rose with the blanket. He then made his way to the bathroom. He ran the cold water in the sink and grabbed a rag. He soaked the rag and washed his face off. He was in the bathroom for a while to regain himself. When he felt stable enough he made his way back to the bed. He couldn't fall back asleep, so instead he just watched Rose while she slept. He made sure she was still covered and laid beside her. Stroking her hair and face as she slept, he smiled to himself. He felt grateful that he was only dreaming, because he loved Rose too much to leave her alone.
Being unable to sleep gave him a creative idea. One he thought Rose may later enjoy. Quickly, but quietly, he rushed to his art supplies and lit a few candles in their room. He grabbed his sketch pad after getting the light to perfectly glow on Rose's face. After putting himself at a perfect angle, Jack began drawing the outline of Rose's face, and her hair along with her covered body. Drawing her in her sleep was easy, except for when she slightly moved. Jack didn't mind though. He found Rose to be beautiful whether she was asleep or awake. He couldn't help but smile while in her presence whether she knew he was there or not. He began adding detail to her face. He started with her eyes. Since they were closed, he added more shading to express the presence of her long eye lashes. After finishing her eyes, he began working on her perfectly shaped nose. Shading around the nostril area and expressing the perfect shape it possessed. Then he began sketching her full, thick pink lips, which had been slightly open because she had been deeply asleep. He then began working on her long curly orange toned hair. Sketching it spread across her pillow, and slightly covering her face as it was. She began to move a bit, but it didn't mess him up as he had nearly already finished sketching her head. Drawing her body would have been easy because it was covered by the blanket. Because of this, it only took him a few minutes. Once he finished, he laid all his supplies next to the bed and laid next to her again. He found himself smiling a very geeky smile.
Jack had been watching Rose sleep again, whilst playing with her hair. She began to shift a bit and started opening her eyes to see Jack's bright blue one's staring back at her. "Hello, beautiful." Jack greeted her with a smile. "Why are you up still, Jack?" She smiled and innocently asked while blushing. "I just couldn't sleep after that dream I had." He admitted. "Tell me about it?" Rose suggest while she moved closer to him, laying her head on his chest. Rose found the feeling and sound of Jack heartbeat very soothing. "Well, we were back in the ocean..." He paused, and grew upset by the thought of this dream. "...I was trying to hold onto the door you were floating on, but I kept slipping away from it. You were trying to hold me up and hold my hand to keep me up, but I kept slipping. Eventually, I couldn't hold on anymore and I was sinking to the bottom. I kept kicking for the surface, but it kept getting darker." Jack's heart was beating faster as he was explaining his dream to Rose. "It just felt so real, Rose. I don't want to leave you. Ever." Jack cried. Rose lifted her head from Jack's chest and looked into his eyes. "Don't worry love, it was just a dream. We are alive and safe now. It's okay. It's all going to be okay." Rose reassured Jack. Feeling better, he smiled at her and laid her head back on his chest. He pulled the blanket over both of them and began stroking her hair. Soon, they both drifted back to sleep.
