Chapter 12

Reagan POV

I walk away from my previous class and head to the library of this private school. I'm supposed to be in studyhall, but since I have no work to do I left class.

The library is rarely used, thanks to our school-issued iPads. It's purpose now is for those who like to read books, those who are looking for a quiet place to relax, and those who have an in-school-suspension.

I'm standing in one of the last of the twenty-two rows of book shelves, tucked away from prying eyes and voices. Unless you know where to find me, well, you won't find me. I walk to the twentieth row, where Michael is sitting against the wall.

"How's the ISS?" I asked, sitting down next to him.

"In school suspension sucks, there's nothing to do!" He complained.

"Could always work on your art skills." I chuckled.

"Yeah, because that worked so well. What kind of paint was that anyway?" He turned to look at me.

"Spray paint, why?"

"Police thought I was high when they arrested me." He sighed. "And thanks for sticking with me." He added the last part with obvious sarcasm.

"I told you to follow me!" I defended myself.

"I couldn't walk or think straight, how was I supposed to follow you?" He laughed.

"Well, next time remember the handkerchief. Thy way you won't inhale the paint fumes." I laughed as well.

"Speaking of which, when is the next time? And do we have a new location?" He pondered aloud.

"We live in a city, there's plenty of locations. We just have to figure out how to get there." I mumbled the last part.

"What about a day? Do you have an idea for when?" He asked me.

"Depends, are you still grounded?" I asked.

"Come on, you and I both know you can sneak me out without my parents knowing. Besides, they'll be gone this weekend. As for being grounded, that ends Friday." He smiled and began to play with my blonde hair.

"True." I said, and we sat in silence for a few moments.

"Dressing in black again?" He asked.

"As always. We'll be in an alleyway or side street, so black will make us less noticeable. Except, I don't own a black handkerchief." I pointed out.

"Right, you have all the colors except black, yellow, and beige." He chuckled.

"All thanks to you, Luke and Callum. I think you guys should start working on getting me multicolored ones." I laughed.

"Speaking of the devils, they told me about your knew neighbor." Michael spoke, starting to braid my hair.

"Ashton?" I asked and he nodded. "He and his family are the talk of the town for the next two days. He's nice looking, but he's nothing compared to Aaron. Besides, my friend called dibs on him."

"Ah yes, the guy you are fixated on." He sighed.

"It's going to happen one day. We'll be the schools cutest couple." I mused.

"Keep thinking that." He whispered, thinking that I couldn't hear him. "When was the last time you talked to him?"

I smacked his arm as hard as I could, which unfortunately wasn't hard enough.

"How is it you can talk to me, and not him?" He grinned.

"Perhaps because he's the football/basketball star and you're normal?" I frowned.

"Or because he's an airhead." He said and the final bell rang, but we didn't move.

"Airhead?" I asked.

"Airhead." He confirmed, standing up and holding his hands out to help me up, which I didn't deny.

"So Friday night?" He asked, looking down at me.

"Yep," I answered, "I'm getting more paint tonight."

"This time, let's make sure I don't get caught." He chuckled and held the library door open for me to walk out of.

"What day is it?" I asked as we entered the crowded hallway.

"Tuesday." He simply answered.

"Tuesday." I sighed and repeated.

"Tuesday." He mimicked, but playfully slapped my arm as he thought of something. "If you help me sneak out, I can go to Luke's tonight."

"Yeah, I can do that." I assured him.
