Two ~ Zack

"Point your feet!" I yelled at my younger dancers as I watched them rehearse.

Nodding in approval as the kids finished up they're dance, I heard footsteps enter the studio. I glanced over and saw Bella walking towards me, holding papers and smiling like usual. Bella is one of the few workers I have at my studio, but she works the hardest. Normally, she works at the front desk where dancers sign up or whatever, but when I'm busy with a private lesson she works with my dance group.

"Zack, Ms. Peterson is here for the private," Bella said as soon as she reached me.

"Who?" I asked turning my attention away from the dancers towards Bella.

"Uhm," Bella began searching through the piles of paper she was carrying, "She came in a week ago and signed her son up for privates," She stated pulling out a single sheet of paper and showing it to me. I looked it over and then nodded.

"Okay," I said walking out of the studio, "Just have the kids rehearse their dance while I'm gone."

Bella nodded, instructing the dancers on what to do. I walked out into the lobby to meet Ms. Peterson and her son.

On the sheet of paper Bella handed me, the boy I will be instructing is around 15-16 and his name is Nick. I smiled, I rarely get boys to come to my studio. I only have about two boys dancing here.

When I got into the lobby I saw a women and a boy standing next to each other. The lady was small, I towered over her. She had sparkling blue eyes and bright red lips. Dark brown hair surrounded her pale face. The boy standing next to her was barely taller then her, but I still stood over him. He was wearing baggy clothing and had the same sparkling blue eyes as his mom.

"Ms. Peterson?" I smiled and the women nodded.

"Oh you can just call me Lori," She said, a smile plastered on her face.

I nodded and turned towards the boy, "And you must be Nick," I grinned.

Nick nodded and smiled, obviously excited. "Yes, sir," He added with his nod.

"Call me Zack," I told him and he nodded. "So, you are here for a private today?" I asked Lori.

"Yes," She began, "Might I ask, I didn't check, but how long will it be?"

I sighed, annoyed that she didn't care enough to look when she signed him up, "I believe it will be about, an hour long," I replied, trying to put on a smile.

Lori nodded and checked her watch.

"So let me just bring you into the studio," I said, placing my hand on Nick's back and gently pushed him forward. As soon as I did he became a little tense.

Lori kissed Nick's cheek and told him she had to go to work. Nick nodded and looked down, muttering goodbye to his mom.

I felt a little bad, Nick seemed pretty sad as his mom left. After his mom was gone, I lead Nick into the smaller studio I use for privates and showed him around. Finally Nick didn't seem sad about his mom leaving anymore. Instead he kept smiling, obviously excited.

I smiled seeing him happy like this, the other dancers never seemed to care, they always came from a different studio. "What kind of dancing do you do, Nick?" I asked and pulled out a mat for him to stretch on.

Nick swayed on his feet and bit his lip, "I like to do contemporary." He answered and I smiled.

"Really? How long have you been dancing?" I asked trying to make a conversation, just so he's comfortable.

"Since I was about 5," He stated.

"And you're how old now? 16?"

He nodded and smiled, "I turned 16 today," He grinned.

"Oh! Happy birthday!" I smiled and pointed towards the mat, "Start stretching okay?" I told him and he nodded, sitting on the mat and began to stretch out his arms and legs. I walked to the lobby desk and grabbed a box full of CDs. They all were a different varieties of music. I searched for good contemporary music Nick could dance to. But then I decided to bring the box and went back to him.

When I walked in, he has his legs stretched out and he was reaching his arms over, touching his toes.

"Okay, Nick, you all ready?" I asked and he smiled up at me. He got up and I put the mat away.

"Just grab any CD you want," I told him showing him the box.

Nick nodded and started to look into the box, taking his time to find the perfect one for himself.

I had to admit, he looks pretty adorable. His clothes looked to big for him, making him look smaller then how he actually is. And I couldn't wait to see him dance. That was what I was mainly waiting for. He did seem like a good dancer, but I can't just say that by looking at him.

Finally, he pulled out a CD and handed it to me. I glanced at the title to see what he has chosen, it was Sparrow. I smiled and put it in my laptop.

"Tell me when you're ready. And you can just improvise," I said to him, getting ready to press 'play'.

Nick sucked in his breath and nodded, "I'm ready."
