Seventeen ~ Nick
"Nick, I need to work late tonight. So, call Pierce and see if I can drop you off at Zack and Pierce's apartment," Mom says while taking away my cereal and putting it in the sink.
I have a smile grow on my face. It's not that I'm happy about mom having to work so late, but it's that I get to hang out with Pierce again. I love to be with him, and having Zack there is a plus.
"Okay," I nodded to her and rose from my seat, heading up to me room.
As I entered my room, I quickly searched around for my phone. My room wasn't that messy, so it wasn't hard to find. Once the phone in the palm of my hand, I dialed Pierce's number and waited.
After three rings, Pierce's voice grumbled into the phone, "Hello?" His voice was low and weary.
"Good morning, sunshine," I chuckled into the phone, knowing that I had probably woken him up.
"Hi, Nick," He replied, I could tell he had a smile on his face, "Is there a reason why you are calling so early?"
Early? Last time I checked the time it was almost ten. "Yeah, it's pretty early," I said sarcastically, "Anyway, I was wondering if I could come over, my mom is working late tonight."
Pierce yawned through the phone, "Yeah, sure, I don't think Zack will mind."
I smiled, "Okay!" I said happily into the phone, "I'll see you soon."
I hung up and looked around my room for something to wear. Maybe something comfortable since we probably weren't going to do anything. I grabbed a pair of dark jeans and a plain t-shirt.
As I slipped on my shirt, I heard a knock behind me. I turned my head and saw my mother standing there, smiling like always, "Well?" She asked, tilting her head to the side, causing her hair to fall onto her face.
"He said I could," I answered.
She nodded, "Okay, good." She began, "Hurry up and finish getting ready, we need to leave soon."
I watched her as she left my room. I just needed to comb out my hair a little and then I'd be all set to leave.
Walking into my bathroom, grabbed my brush, and did my hair all nice and perfect.
Satisfied with how I look, I walked out of my bedroom and met my mom at the front door. She was impatient, so I wasn't surprised to see her tapping her foot on the floor and having her arms crossed.
As soon as I reached her, she opened the door and headed to the car. I quickly followed behind.
I got into the passenger seat and put on my seat belt. My mom then started the car up and began driving.
Pierce and Nick's apartment was about 20 minutes away, so I had a feeling it was going to be a quiet ride there, or my mom would just start talking about work.
I stared out the window and watched as we passed trees, street lights, and other cars. As we drove on, I began to count the cars. It was amusing at the time.
I got up to 14 until my mom cleared her throat. I turned my attention away from the cars and towards her.
"So," She began, "How are you are Pierce doing?"
I groaned and sat back in my seat, she constantly asks that. She used to get annoyed with me when I would ask her how her and one of her old boyfriends were doing, but of course it's fine for her to ask.
