"What the fuck?," Lara whispered for some unknown reason she couldn't complete her shift and had somehow found herself suspended in some kind of limbo.

"Hello Lara, really my child you were going to shift in front of them?" She heard a voice she was would recognize anywhere chuckle in amusement.

It was the moon goddess.

"Tust me you couldn't even if you wanted to, I wouldn't let you, not yet at least."

"What?." Lara was too shocked to acknowledge whatever the moon goddess was saying, her mind was still trying to wrap itself around the fact that the moon goddess was actually speaking to her in person. The woman was breathtakingly beautiful with beach blonde hair and glassy blue eyes, dressed in a black flowing gown, Lara couldn't help but think there was something familiar about her but she couldn't pinpoint what.

The moon goddess snorted then shook her head in amusement, "you know you can actually kick his ass without shifting right!, He's the badass alpha you don't want to piss off but lucky for you you have the power to challenge him, you're a machine when you kill, kick his ass with the same will."

Lara stared at the moon goddess confused, the goddess in return winked and smiled at her then everything went dark.

She found herself at the exact same situation she was in before she had shifted and she knew the moon goddess had offered her another chance at doing things right by altering the timeline.

"Please don't kill them I'll do anything Redric, anything," She added hoping her mate would buy her whole submissive act.

Redric smirked, "anything you say."
Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to play the submissive card, she thought when she saw the look plastered on his face but then again she had no other ideas.

"Yes anything," she gritted.

"Good, find me the cell guard who was in charge of questioning these three." He roared at the crowd not addressing anyone in particular. By the time the guard was being hauled aggressively towards the middle of the chaos Redric was already in the process of shifting.

Lara's mouth dropped open as she witnessed his shift. She shuddered when she heard his bones snapping then finally a wolf stood in it's paws where Redric once was. He was by far the largest wolf she had ever encountered or heard of with glossy rich jet black coated fur and primed slick claws that were jagged and raw. His eyes were a bold shade of red.

"He is so hot," her wolf karma spoke happily.

"You...you're the A..Apex wolf ?..," Lara stuttered. Everyone looked at her as if they were seeing her for the first time, she sighed, "unbelievable, yes I am still here arseholes."

Redric ignored her and continued glaring at the guard. "You insolent fool," he growled. The pack shrunk back, eyes wide with fear. The guard got out of the vice like grip he was being held turned and ran or at least tried to before Redric gripped on to the back of his neck, wrapped his mouth around it and quickly bit down, snapping it.

The man fell down with a thud. Redric was not done with him though, he slammed his paw down his neck hard enough to tear the vein near his oesophagus, the man squirmed in pain, "you had one job, find out the truth and you failed for that you're going to die." He growled before pulling his paw back and slamming it down the man's throat harder than Lara had imagined was even possible. Blood sputtered everyone coating the ground and Redric with it's gore complexion.

Redric shifted back into his human form dusted himself then spoke casually as if he had not just killed a man so gruesomely, "I recall you saying you would do anything so that I won't kill these rogues, well it's simple, all you have to do is accept my rejection."

She stepped forward in a fit of rage angered by his words momentarily forgetting what had just transpired and brought her fist back then connected it with Redric's face. There was a sickening crack then his head flew backwards breaking the silence as it echoed around the area.
The crowd gasped in shock.

A few seconds later he lifted his head off the ground and gave her a twisted wicked grin.

A part of her wanted to fling herself towards his nude unimaginable hot body and have her feel of him and the another part of her wanted to rip him apart for even suggesting they break their mate bond.

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath to calm her wolf who was fighting her for control. When she opened her eyes she knew they were in their usual hunting crystal silver colour they turned when her wolf was at surface. The entire crowd stepped back in fear and shock.

"I accept your rejection," she responded and pulled back, her eyes returning to their usual crystal blue colour. She smirked when she saw the shocked looked on Redric and his entire pack's faces, as if they couldn't believe she had just accepted his rejection.
