Xander Hartgrave
I felt pain. Endless overwhelming, gutt wrenching pain. The same familiar pain I had been feeling for the past ten years since I was first abducted at the age of sixteen.
A sense of hopelessness settled deep within me. Making me numb. A few years after my abduction I had come to terms with the fact that I had absolutely no way of escaping.
"You're awake?" I heard a voice across my cell speak.
I walked closer to the source.
"You need to escape tonight that's the only chance you will get! before my twin who by the way has successfully convinced my entire pack he is me comes back." The voice whisper yelled.
I hadn't expected to hear the voice again, but I did. The voice started speaking again more clearly and I could finally confirm it was a man's voice.
"You're just like me aren't you?, The man laughed,
"a so called rare wolf."
I cleared my throat and chose to respond despite the pain,"no I am not" my voice came out as a snarl even though I had not intended it to.
"No need to lie mate, you smell like a powerful wolf not to mention your scent reminds me of a friend I used to know, are you by any chance from bloodlust pack?"
I remained silent not feeling the need to explain myself to this stranger FUCK him and his fucking questions. I waited for him to speak and just when I thought he wasn't going to, he finally did.
"How about some introductions maybe that will loosen your tongue I am the real alpha...."
He never got to finish what he was about to say, we suddenly heard footsteps approaching and we had to cut our conversation short.
The man went silent and I crawled back to my original position just before the door to my cell opened.
"You're one of those alpha freaks aren't you?" A guard walked into my cell and snarled, I growled then hissed as a sharp knife stabbed me in the palm of my hand.
"If by freaks you mean this"
I asked before growling, my eyes flashed ruby red.
The guard paled,
"you really are a freak!"
"No shit Einstein" I snickered.
"Tell your prick of an alpha to stay the fuck away from my little brother" I growled.
"Your little brother is a fucking freak just like you and my alpha has got very big plans for the both of you" The guard spat.
"Oh yeah, I have plans of my own for you and your alpha too, they revolve around me ending your miserable lives"
I snarled back, "on second thought let him try and attack Redric, trust me he will be dead before he even harms a hair on his head." If there was one thing I could never tolerate it was someone talking smack about my brother. The guard laughed hysterically and I had the sudden urge to rip his smug face off.
"Do you wanna know what all freaks have in common?, he taunted, "in the end they all get humiliated."
"Freak!" He snarled glaring at me, kicking me hard in the balls, then walked out of my cell laughing like a lunatic.
"Fucking hell arsehole!" I growled in pain, that little shit, he would be the first person I would rip apart if I ever got the chance to get out of this hell hole.
"Psst over hear ... you can thank me by finding Redric, I only ask that you deliver this one message to him "itsy bitsy spider," he will know who I am." The man spoke a few minutes after the guard had left.
Well fuck it, the dude had just tossed me a key. Not just any key but one specifically worked on all the locks on my chains and within seconds I was free. I may have looked like shit but I could careless, I was finally going back home but not before I paint this pack territory red with their own blood.
I glared at the key, "if the key can open any lock why are you not freeing yourself?" I questioned, a little suspicious of his intentions.
"Because I am not interested in freeing myself and too wounded to run anyway, by the way it was nice to hear your voice again Xander, I finally recognised you, I knew there was something familiar about your voice,"man!, Redric is going to have a fit when he sees you." The man spoke again, this time sounding happy.
I smiled for the first time in a very long time, "I am a Hartgrave, I do not run,
I hunt and kill."
"Remind me never to mess with you Hartgrave siblings" the man laughed amusedly.
"I'll be back for you" I spoke before shifting into my demon wolf.
