She was restless and he was pissed, her tears triggering his feralness...earlier.
He didn't want to tell her but he knew for a fact her father was dead. That was the only explanation for losing an alpha bond.

He walked silently behind her then stood abruptly when they arrived at her pack gate. His hands in his pocket. The gate opened with a firm click. He deliberately stalked behind her ready to attack anyone who posed a threat.

All around them was chaos, wolves running back and forth, howling and snarling at no one and anything in particular.

The guards instantly surrounded them aiming their weapons, snarling and growling at them. Roaring he grabbed one guard by the throat and slammed him hard against the gate, the guard chocked and gagged but Redric pressed on "for guards you sure do have unreliable memory, now bow done before your princess you fools"

The guards got onto their knees almost instantly.

Redric glared at them his eyes became sharp and posture threatening "anyone who tries to get in my way again I will choke to death, spilling your blood will be a waste of my time, I do not want to upset my mate more than she already is"
He release the guard and went to place his hands on Lara's waist, squeezing it tightly, his claws tearing into her thin dress material, he rubbed his neck on the nape of her neck and kissed the dip between the neck and collarbone softly "Remember I am here with you" he whispered keeping his eyes closed.

"My apologies your highness, we did not recognize you" The guards spoke unanimously their gaze fixated on Lara.

"It's okay, please take me to my father" she spoke softly.

The guards were suddenly quiet.
"I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news concerning your father princess, something terrible has happened"
one guard spoke hesitantly.

"Just take us to her father is" Redric growled impatiently when he saw how shaken Lara was by the guards statement.

"Once again we are sorry, follow us to his majesty's room" another guard spoke with a solemn look.

They were just about to start walking when Lara ripped her hand from Redric's and stormed towards her father's room.

"Lara wait" She heard Redric's voice boom behind me. She stood frozen then turned her head back to stare at him, her eyes fogged over, she barely recognized him through her blurry teared eyes. He growled grabbing her by the elbow, scowling at her, showing her that he was upset with her. "We do this together" he spoke calmly but there was nothing calm about his posture.

Lara only nodded, joined her hand with his and together they walked into her father's room with the guards hot on their tails.

"Lara" a petite brunette gasped along with the rest of the people in the room. Among them Lara could only recognize her beta Jace Nolan and her third in command Taylor who had just called her name.

"Taylor, where's my dad Taylor?" Lara questioned her gaze shifting from corner to corner until it landed on a blooded bed.

Laying there on the bed could not even be classified as a body, various ripped organs lied tied in a bow using the intestines. His tongue hammered on the wall, no trace of the man she called father was left behind not even his face. His hands and legs also hammered on the wall attached together to look like a cross.

Lara screamed and Jace jumped to her comfort but was suddenly stopped by Redric who pushed him back. "If anyone is going to comfort my mate it would be me" he spoke scowling at the man then pulled Lara into his chest embracing her tightly.

The door was suddenly flung open and a pack of seven rogues walked in like they owned the place, six in their wolf form and one in a hood. The entire room went into defense mode except Lara who was busy sobbing and soaking Redric's shirt with her tears"

"Well hello little sister" the wolf in a hood stepped forward and spoke. Lara raised her head to take a peak at him but his hooded cloak made it difficult to see his face. With burning rage seeping through his entire being, Redric narrowed his eyes at the hooded figure, flashing his canines and released a rumbling growl "you have no idea who you're messing with prick"

The hooded figure growled "I was talking to my sister," he turned his head towards Lara "you can't stay here, you have to leave right now!" Sudden distant warning growls were heard behind them and Redric cursed under his breath and tightened his grip on Lara's hand.

Redric growled at the man "did you plan this?"

The hooded figure snorted "don't be absurd, I wouldn't be here trying to save her life if I did, get her out of here before it's too late Redric and I'd appreciate it if you Hartgraves never hurt any of my sisters because if you do, the moon goddess would be the least of your problems ."

She furrowed her eyebrows "Who are you?" His eyes looked so familiar, and she could tell he was faking his voice.

was it someone she knew?

"You're a slow one aren't you?, didn't I Just say I am your brother!"

"I don't have any brother" Lara hissed.

"Its brothers actually, two" the man chuckled "and Just because you don't know about us doesn't mean we don't exist"

"I'll see you soon Lara, I am Dread by the way, now go." he growled.

The growls behind them got louder, and Redric dragged Lara towards the other door at the end of the room.

"This isn't over Dread" Lara sighed, glancing at the hooded figure one more time before exiting the room with Redric, her third in command, beta and a number of packmates that were in the room with them.
