*21th january 2041*

We sat in the poppy field talking and laughing for the rest of the afternoon. Ashton's laugh was contagious and most of the time we were laughing at nothing but we didn't have a care in the world, we were having fun. Until it started to pour with rain.

"No, it's fine I like rain." I said quietly.

"I'm not the only one that likes the rain then." He gave me a small smile and brushed a raindrop off my cheek.

Ashton got up and held his hand out to me.

"Would you like to dance in the rain, ma'am?" He attempted to say in a posh voice but I could hear his Australian accent.

"Yes, I would love to." I let Ashton take my hand and pull me up from the ground. "But we dont have any music"

"Just imagine it." He said smiling widely.

Ashton pulled me towards him and placed his hands on my hips. I took one of his hands in my own and put my other on his shoulder. His hand slid to my side and pulled me even closer to his warm body. I kept biting my lip as I focused on trying not to step on his feet. I glanced up for a second to see he was watching his feet too.

"Enough looking at the ground, just look at me and follow my rhythm." Ashton said tilting my head with his hand so my eyes looked into his." 

"Ok but if I step on your foot, it's not my fault" I said resting my head in his chest. His heart beat was slow and relaxing.

"Ouch!" Ashton cried squeezing his eyes shut.

"I'm so sorry." I said staring at his pained expression then glancing at his now injured foot.

"Your deadly." Ashton laughed.

"That's one thing you dont know about me." I said tilting my head back as I laughed.

"Oh be quiet you hurt me and all you can do is laugh! Your cruel Kerri, so cruel." He feigned hurt. I gasped, surprised as he threw me over his shoulder.

"Let me down! I didnt mean to, I'll do anything." I said sarcastically.

"Well there is one thing" He said gently putting me down.

"What is it?" I said dramatically.

"Promise you will keep a secret for me." He whispered in my ear.

He walked over to a small tree which let through a bit of sunlight. It blocked out the rain pouring down right next to it.

"Stay here." Ashton said leaving me standing in the rain.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"You wanted to know the truth.. so here it is." He walked into the faint sunlight and stood there. What was he doing? My question was answered as his body started to sparkle. Ashton's skin was glittering.

The longer he stood in the sun the more his skin shone. He shone like a thousand diamonds.

"I'm one of them." He said turning to face me.

"Your a-"

"Vampire." We both chorused.
