THE SCANSION OF Evangeline's cement-jerking legs escorted herself until she stepped into hangar five without being noticed by anyone. Her heart was beating like she was running a nonstop marathon, ragged breaths weren't even reluctant to extricate out of her lips. For some reason, her encounter with Peter triggered anxiety to outflank herself because he had finally seen the other side of her — the only reason why she disappeared for six years.

Evangeline's hands visibly trembled as she painstakingly dragged her feet closer to the Quinjet, but she had already let the fear to stampede herself. Evangeline was overwhelmingly afraid until her own feet gave up on her, collapsing to the ground as her eyes sealed shut. Clutching her chest for dear life, Evangeline's strangled sobs whirred throughout the hangar.

It wasn't without reason she reacted that way. Evangeline wasn't ready for this because with Peter knowing what she had been hiding all along, chances of keeping him safe were greatly decreasing. No, it was not because she underestimated his current abilities, she knew he could protect himself and everyone easily, but she just didn't trust herself around him.

Not when it only took Evangeline minutes to forfeit control of her own self and hurting him was clearly the last thing she wanted to happen.

A hand suddenly found its way to tangle with her shoulder, causing her instinctively let out a startled yelp and swatting the hand away almost immediately. "Hey, hey, Eva. It's just me."

Evangeline's head perked up, landing her eyes upon the redhead as she breathed out in relief. "Nat."

"Are you okay? Are you hurt somewhere?" Natasha questioned as she scanned the girl up and down.

It took several seconds for Evangeline to filter Natasha's question before she forced herself to stand up, steadying her breathing that seemed to collide rapidly with the beat of her heart. There was no time to weaken now, someone out there had compiled what she deserved to know, she better put everything aside and hunted a way to stop the fake psychiatrist from playing some mind games on her or Bucky.

"I'm fine," Evangeline briefly stated as she brushed past the redhead.

Natasha was taken aback by her unusual demeanor, but she quickly wiped it off and turned around to catch up with her. "Where do you think you're going?"

"Out of here," Evangeline replied, not even sparing a glance at Natasha. "You shouldn't be here, Natasha."

"Are you planning to help Steve and Bucky get out of here?" Natasha asked, still following hot on her trails.
