FOR THE VERY first time again, Evangeline's mind was in peace. There were no dreams, no memories, no visions, everything was dark, but it soothed her down unconsciously. For a limited time, the girl could overlook the bitter patency and the cruel world that was still faithfully waiting for her.

But again, placidity was something limited edition in her life.

The beeping sound of the heart monitor aviated into Evangeline's ears, signaling her to regain consciousness from her slumber. Evangeline fluttered her eyes open, the white ceiling directly welcoming her eyesight as the typical scent of the hospital crawled up into her nostrils. For a brief moment, Evangeline almost forgot the reason she could end up here before the memories of last night was thrown back at her.

The waves of pain assaulted her head as she instantly let a groan out of her parched throat, carefully bringing a hand up to massage her temple gently. Evangeline's whole body ached, mainly her left knee and she could immediately assume that her knee hit the asphalt pretty hard, snooping underneath the thin sheets that her knee now had a white cloth rimmed around it neatly. Evangeline exhaled a breath, knowing it was certain that Tony needed to fix the apparatus he installed to help her walk more conveniently.

As the girl compiled energy to repatriate her entire consciousness, Evangeline pulled herself up into a half-sitting position. The luminous of the sun had illuminated the world and crashed into her room through the windows as well, giving away the warmth she didn't realize she needed. Everything sounded sorely calm, not until the noise of the TV captured her attention.

Evangeline froze the minute she landed her eyes on the screen, her heart racing incredibly fast. The news that was being aired was the destruction she made in the neighborhood two days ago according to the news, but most of the owner of the houses said they had no idea who caused it since the surveillance cameras that was around died. The influx of nausea flipped inside her stomach, watching how grim their faces were and seeing the children being medically examined in the background enough to make her breathing quickened.

Evangeline couldn't even bring herself to care about the fact that she barely had a chance of getting caught, all she could think of was she almost killed innocent people. Again. The thought instantly triggered a panic to stop by in her as the gravity around her swiveled, a bunch of shaky breaths escaping exigency out of her lips. Every noise buzzed vacuously in Evangeline's ears and in a matter of seconds, everything changed.

In a blink of an eye, the scenery around her suddenly shifted, the undefiled white walls transformed into a filthy and abject one, the metal door stood upright without an interstice to give her a chance to see what was going on, not even a window present. A light bulb in the center of the ceiling barely had the capacity to illuminate the entire room, causing it to stretch out an aura of indistinctness as the cold eroded the surface of her skin.
