⌠GIRL MEETS EVIL⌡

2021.
It all started absolutely tense, another new phase that Evangeline Ryle thought would not be tainted with blood, sweat, and tears. But, she was terribly wrong. Endless adrenaline pumped within her, the scenery before her was bent for a moment as the excruciating wound gradually eroded her consciousness.
The barren street of Busan was getting colder and darker, a labored humming of mortality brushing off Evangeline's soul. There were so many thoughts that betided inside her head, but none of them could take off weight of her abhorrence. The situation solely reiterated curse words out of her lips at each step taken, vestiges of tears had effervesced in her champagne-colored eyes.
If anyone hungered for the world to go slow on them, then they were foolish enough to think that way. Because first, the rules were not in anyone's hands and second, any hope was essentially dead to the universe. And perhaps she was the fool today. Even after Thanos and The Snap, another misfortune once again found its way to her.
But, at this point, Evangeline was particularly gratified that she wasn't alone.
"Where the hell is he?" Harley Keener questioned to no one in particular, a hand circled around her waist, propping herself not to fall flat to the ground.
"He's on his way." The response was barely a whisper as Evangeline sealed her eyes shut a couple of times, the pain was a kind of pain that was quite unbearable, especially for someone who did not have a healing factor. "Is there anyone following us?"
"No. Unless my eyes turn blind."
Evangeline slightly grunted, dragging herself laboriously as she attempted to neglect the throbbing pain in her abdomen. "When do I get to relax without someone trying to kill me?"
"You're the Moonstone, of course, everyone's after you."
It required everything within Evangeline not to roll her eyes, after all, she did not ask to be the target of some random people. "Not helping, smartass."
It was unexpected, the assault she meant.
The cryptic mise en scène of six masked creatures that Evangeline thought was only in her head, it turned out to be real that might have lurked the two juveniles for hours on their route from afar, rendering an unwanted surprise in the end.
Surely, there was a minor heinous brawl against them since her instinct of survival forthwith kicked in, but still, it wasn't enough to knock them out and do a bolt was the only option.
"Look, we need to blend in with the people here," Harley suggested, quickening their pace once he spotted a scintilla of shadowy figures ahead. "Those weird masked creatures won't do anything in public."
