Harmony's POV
We both stayed quiet the whole way back to his room.
I kept looking over at Glitch when I would hear a sniffle from his direction. He looked miserable, and I hate seeing him like this.
Once we arrived in his room, I quickly embraced him. He was a surprised by my sudden action but he quickly gave into the hug.
"I'm so sorry" I say, breaking the silence.
"What for? You didn't do anything"
"I made you show me the past," I say, letting go of the hug. I shifted my attention to the black floor of his room, not wanting to see his green eyes. "I made you watch something that caused you pain just for my benefit, and no one is allowed to show me the past. And you did because I made you do it and now I feel awful"
"Don't feel bad Harmony. I chose to show you the past, so you did nothing wrong," Glitch says and sits on his bed. "And don't feel bad about me watching the entire event all over again. I chose to watch it; you didn't make me."
He looked down at floor and let silence fill the room. I was about to say something when he started talking once again. "So.. do you have any questions? I can't imagine how much your mind is racing right now trying to process what you watched"
"I don't really have any," I said and sat next to him on his bed. He nods slightly, and looks back down again.
I do have many questions racing in my head right now, but I don't want to take the chance of possibly making him more sad than he already is. I should cheer him up. But how?
"Hey, how about we go watch the stars together for a bit? I heard that the stars shine brighter during this time of year" I said and look over at him.
"Sure"
I stand up and he does as well. I take his hand in mine and start to walk up to the stairs to the roof. I heard from other agents a few days ago that DCI has a room on the roof, where the agents can watch the stars or the sky without worrying about being seen or attacked by enemy agents. The room has a lot of security so its well protected. I've never been to the room but I've heard it's beautiful, and a great place to go and relax.
Glitch opened the door and we both go in, immediately being welcomed by the scent of flowers. Flowers at every corner and a small fountain towards the center of the room. Grass covered the entire floor and there was a clear, glass window at the top with the moon and stars bring light into the area. The place was beautiful.
Glitch and I lay down next to each other on a blanket that he brought with him and stared up at the star-filled sky.
"I haven't come up here in a long time. I was starting to forget this place even existed" Glitch says.
"When was the last time you came here?" I say and look over at him.
"When I was 10, so about six years ago. You're mom, Sarah, would bring me up here with her whenever I would get sad or upset or sometimes just for fun." He says.
"You must miss her very much" I say.
"I do. I really do miss her," He says. "You know she used to talk about you a lot, Harmony. Every day she would come in with a new video of you dancing or you doing something, and she would show them to everyone in DCI, but I was always the first one to see them. She would always talk about how much she missed you and how much she wanted to be with you every single day of her life. Same thing with your dad. He would always talk about you and tell stories about you. They both really missed you, and they loved you so much"
I stay quiet and try to hold in the tears that are building up in my eyes. I did not what I was feeling. I was feeling pain, anger, sadness, but more happiness, that my parents had the chance to make someone's life better. I heard from other agents that Glitch did not have a place he could call home. His parents always treated him like dirt and never wanted anything to do with him. They constantly said that he was a mistake in the world- a "glitch". Now that he's left that behind him, he took the name his parents would always call him to become a new person who everyone loves despite his past. To me, he's not a mistake or a "glitch". To me, he's important in every way, and I love him for who he trully is.
"Harmony? Are you okay? You kinda zoned out there" Glitch says with a slight chuckle.
I look over at him and see how bright his green eyes shine in the dark, how his black hair slightly moves whenever he tilts his head, how soft his lips look from where I'm laying in the green grass. He's so cute.
"Harmony? What's wrong?"
"Nothing." I slowly start to lean my head closer to him til our lips are a few inches apart. I can feel his warm breath as I stare at his green eyes and he stares at mine. I start to close my eyes as I continue to lean in until I finally close the gap between our lips.
