EPILOGUE Part 2:
*The Final Geste*

<Amy's POV>

As it turns out, the stage was amazing.

After the opening ceremony, the curtains parted and behind showed circus-styled background designs and lettering. I don't know if beauty can be indescribable but this one nailed it. 

We proceeded to the usual flow of the prom: passing the key of responsibility to the next president of the student government, the exchange of candles and roses, reading of both the class history and prophecy, prom songs, presentations prepared by some seniors, dinner, message of the principal, etcetera, etcetera.

And now we have our disco.

"Now, boys and girls, with your partners, please gather to the center," Ayden, as gentleman as ever, stood up, grabbed my seat, and guided me to the dance floor, holding my hand.

When we found a comfortable spot, the music played. The piano softly clouded the hall and students began to slow dance with their partners. Ayden put his hand out and I willingly took his invitation.

With his left hand holding my waist and his right intertwining with my left hand, we began to sway into the beautiful melody. For a second, I saw his eyes sparkle as they gaze into mine. I slowly felt heat creeping up to my cheeks and my chest fluttering.

Damn his effect.

"How are you, birthday girl?" he asked me.

"If aching feet counts as fine, then I'm fine," I answered.

He chuckled softly. "Whose fault is it to wear six-inch heels?"

"Mom."

He shook his head slightly and pulled me closer. He gave me another one of those signature bad boy smirks at me that usually had every girl's knees buckle.

Unfortunately, I was one of them.

"Hey," he huskily said. I felt my cheeks heat up more.

How can he even possibly make that single word sound so sexy?!
