Proposal, then disaster

Kara POV

"Lena, what is going on?" I asked over the phone. She had called me, said 'Hello' and then started crying.

"I am so sorry, I love you so much, I was so angry and I am really sorry, please forgive me!" For a minute I couldn't think of why she would be sorry. It is perfectly understandable that she would have blown up at me like she did.

"Lena, you have to understand there is nothing for you to be sorry about. Yes, you overstepped a little but it makes perfect sense that you would be mad at me."

"I should have listened to you, Kara, please forgive me!" I knew she wouldn't stop till I had forgiven her, so I did. Making a mental note to stop by her office with flowers, I said goodbye and hung up the phone.

(An hour later)

"Lena, will you marry me?" I pulled out the shining ring that had been passed down in my family for a long time.

"No," Alex told me. 

"Ugh! Why do you do this to me?"

"You need to make it more romantic, make a scene." Alex and I had been rehearsing what I was going to say for half an hour.

"I just want to propose. No theatrics."

"That's boring!" Alex stood up, motioning for me to as well.

"I am going to go to her office now, should I fly? Propose as Supergirl?"

"Fly there but propose as Kara."

"Okay.

Lena POV

I heard a gush of wind behind me and turned. Kara had come in the window, dressed in slightly more fancy clothes than her usual cardigan and cheap yoga pants.

"Lena, I need to talk to you." She walked up to me and gave me a look that told me it was serious. I had to do this now!

"Sure, just one thing first." I grabbed out the box that held the ring I had bought just before I found out my mother was killed. Kara gave me a confused look. I knelt on one knee, Like in the movies, and said, "Kara, you are the most wonderful human being..." I paused, realising that wasn't really true. "You are the most wonderful... person... I have ever met. You're kind and sweet and generous. You sacrifice so much for the sake of other's happiness and you go out of your way to ensure that the people around you aren't hurt. No-one protects you or cares to make sure that you are okay. I would like to spend the rest of my life with you by my side. We can be there for each other and be happy together. What do you say, will you marry me?" I opened the box to reveal the ring.

"Lena, of course!" She jumped up and kissed me. I took the ring and put it on her finger. "Um... I kind of was going to ask the same question." She took out a box similar to the one still in my hand. I gave her a kiss and hugged her. She put the ring on my finger. All was perfect for a long time, until the wedding.

Kara POV(10 Months later)

"Dammit!" I yelled. "Can't we get it taken in?" I was struggling to zip the wedding dress. Lena's tux fit her perfectly, it was so gorgeous. My dress, however, was struggling to fit my baby bump that had grown a heap since the last time I tried the dress on.

"It looks fine." Lena chimed in, sitting eating Ice-Cream.

"It is so tight, I can't even get the zip done up."

"Maybe you should wear a tux too. They are awfully comfortable!" She grinned at me, I glared back. She thought this was so amusing, she started laughing hysterically.

"Lena!" I whined. She got up and helped me out of the dress. I stood there glaring at my belly, wearing nothing but underwear.

"You are so gorgeous! How is the little guy doing down there?" Lena knelt and put her ear up to the baby.

"Lena, what makes you think it is a male?"

"He has to take after me somehow. Being the male of our relationship, I am obligated to want him to be a boy!" I giggled at her stupidity. "And he will have powers like you so, you get more similarities." She stood, pushing against me.

"We'll see. The donor wasn't an alien, that I know of. He was almost as good looking as you, so that has to count for something."

"Did you meet him?"

"No, I was going to wait till you got home."

"Well, here I am!"

"Here you are." I gave her a kiss which she returned with more passion. Soon we were laying on the floor, talking softly. Then my phone rang and it was Alex.

"Hey, about your wedding dress..."

Alex POV

It has only been two months since Kara finally had a successful IVF trial. The past two had failed, leaving her and Lena wrecks. Kara was showing a little bit but not much, she was over-reacting about the bump, it wasn't as big as she imagined. She dress wasn't fitting because it was the wrong one, she didn't know that yet.

"Hey, about your wedding dress..."

"It doesn't fit!" She was obviously stressed.

"Kara, it is the wrong size, not the one we ordered." I waited for an answer but I didn't get one. "Kara?"

"I'm here, Lena is just grabbing the dress now." She wasn't speaking to me but I was listening to the next part, "Look at the tag, does it say the size we ordered?" Kara started laughing. "Thank Rao!"

"Yeah, your dress is on its way. It will come within a few weeks."

"A few weeks? The wedding is in a few weeks!"

"It will come before then, I promise."

"I have to go, I am going to fly for a bit and clear my head."

"Okay, be careful. I love you," I tried to hide my anger at her need to be Supergirl, even though she had another life to protect.

"I love you too." I grabbed the comms and kept my line open with Kara. She didn't know but I had hers on so that I could hear her but she couldn't hear me. I kept an eye on the satellites and made sure to keep track of every movement she made. She finally went back to her apartment, safe. 'Thank Rao!' I thought, Kara is really rubbing off on me. My phone rang and I answered.

"Hey Kara, what's up?" She was crying on the other end.

"It's Lena! She had been kidnapped, they left a note, it says there is no point trying to find her and that she is already dead!" She was sobbing like crazy.

"Hold on, I am coming to your apartment."
