Lena POV (Dreaming)
"Who are you?" Kara looked at me as if she had never laid eyes on me before. I stared back with disappointment.
"Kara, it's me, Lena!" I said, grabbing her left hand with mine. She looked at the wedding rings on our fingers.
"I don't know you. Who am I married to?"
"Me..."
I woke to Alura screaming and Kara holding her, swaying from side to side to calm her. Kara seemed okay, it must have just been a dream. But, it felt so real.
"Lena, you are awake!" She half yelled but half whispered, obviously still not sure of what was going on. "Maybe you will have better luck with her!"
"Kara!" Cait ran in, "Is everything okay?" She turned to me.
"Yeah, I think so. Hey, are you okay?" I noticed her eyes turning a very pale blue, then her hair went platinum.
"Lena, take Alura!" Kara handed out daughter to me and stood in front of us. She held her hands out and stood with a level of confidence that even Supergirl had never been seen wearing.
"Could you just shut that kid up?" She yelled, putting her ice cold hands on Kara and started blasting ice through her. Kara was screaming but not moving from in front of us, finally, she fell to her knees. I watched as Kara stopped breathing and collapsed completely.
"Kara, no!" I gently laid Alura down next to her dying mother. I stood up and punched Caitlin's alter ego in the nose, knocking her to the ground and rendering her unconscious. I looked at my daughter, who had rolled over and had her hand on Kara's face. Kara was cold but not because of death, because she had once again been almost killed by that...
"Lena? What's going..." Barry ran through the door, picking up Kara straight away and running her out of our temporary room.
I picked Alura up and left Killer Frost laying on the ground. I searched for a while and found the medical room where Cisco and Barry had Kara under sun lamps. I ran to them and sat next to her. I sat for hours to wait for her to wake up.
"Lena..." I turned and saw Cait with tears streaming down her face. I was still holding my sleeping (finally!) daughter so I put her on the chair, making sure she was comfortable and gave Cait a massive hug. "I am so sorry!" She said through tears.
"Don't be, it isn't your fault." I looked at the necklace on Alura's ankle and looked back at Cait.
"No, she can keep it. The only reason I went full Killer Frost is..."
"What? You can talk to me, I have time," I said, turning to Kara and back to Caitlin.
"I saw Kara again, she is so beautiful, isn't she?" Caitlin looked at the floor. "She brings out my wild side... Killer Frost."
"Do you have a crush on my wife?" I said, giggling.
"I'm sorry, I really am!"
"Caitlin, if you two were married, I would feel the same way about her."
"You aren't mad?"
"Of course not," I was about to continue but was cut off by Kara squirming. "Kara?" I sat next to her, holding her hand. I looked at Alura who was sleeping peacefully on the cushion next to me.
"Who are you?" She tried to hold back a giggle. I freaked out for a second but soon realised what she was doing.
"Kara!" I hit her on the shoulder and she laughed.
"I love you, Lena." She sat up and kissed me. "So, what exactly happened?" She looked at Cait, who still had tears on her face. Cait walked towards us and explained everything, except her feelings for my wife. "Alura? Is she okay?" I motioned to our daughter. "Let me hold her!" I complied and we sat there hugging for a few minutes before Barry ran in with a mission for Kara.
Kara POV
I stood up and ran to my costume, practically falling over when I stopped speeding around.
"You need to rest." Lena walked to me slowly. Alura wasn't in her arms, I got scared until I saw Cisco playing with her on the other side of the room.
"Lena, I am fine. The lights helped a lot!" I watched as Barry sped back.
"Okay, so, there is a robbery where the guns are made of some sort of fire throwing technology. I tried to dodge them but they burnt my other suit. This is the spare we had, Cisco is not happy!"
"I'm on it!" I flew out, catching my cape on the sliding doors that were closing and stopped, falling to the ground.
"Kara?" Lena ran out with a worried look.
"Everything is fine, my cape just got caught," I said, not wanting to mention the feeling I had in my chest, like a severe burning sensation but from ice. I stood and flew out again, this time getting there and taking out the bad guys one by one. I really needed a drink, nothing was strong enough on this Earth though.
"Kara? Meet us at the coordinates I just sent you, " Barry's voice came through the comms and then cut out as quickly as it came through. It sounded like he was stopping for split seconds in-between each word, it sounded strange, to say the least. I got the coordinates on my phone and followed them to find a warehouse that looked to have been snowed upon. I made my way inside, cautious that it could be a trap. A body was lying face down in the middle of the empty room.
"Lena?" I ran to my wife who was laying on the ground. I turned her over to find her not breathing and her side was bleeding like crazy. I used my hearing to find her heartbeat and found it, sighing with relief. I picked her up and flew her back to Star Labs.
"Is she okay?" I asked Cait as she came out of the operating room.
"Yeah, she must have passed out from the pain. I don't know why she wasn't breathing though. It looks like she was stabbed with something very sharp and jagged."
"Like an icicle?" I crossed my arms and looked at her. Killer Frost revealed herself.
"I wondered if you would be the first to guess."
"So, why? Why would you want to hurt Lena?"
"Because I want you all to myself!" She then screamed and clutched her head. I watched as her hair turned brown again and her eyes went back to their normal beautiful shade of light brown. The gorgeous Caitlin Snow was back. She started crying and apologising.
"Cait, stop! Everything is fine, you are fine."
"I am so sorry," She looked up at me, almost bursting into tears again. "I never meant to hurt you or Lena."
"Lena!" I yelled, just now realising that Killer Frost had done the operation, not Cait. I ran to the room Lena was lying in and looked down at her lifeless body. I fell to my knees in sobs, not able to breathe let alone speak.
"Lena? Come back to me!" I yelled, trying to shake her awake. She wasn't moving or breathing. I couldn't hear her heartbeat, that beautiful heartbeat that was the only thing I lived for other than my daughter. "Lena!" I choked out through more tears. I sat there crying for almost an hour before Barry came in.
"Kara is she..." Barry stopped dead in his tracks, then came and embraced me, vibrating to warm me up. He wasn't aware of how cold my heart had just turned.
"Dead..." I stood up feeling a rage that I have never felt before. I turned to Caitlin who was also crying. I pointed at her and yelled, "Because of you!"
