Izaya's POV

"I'm sorry, Mr. Orihara, but I can't let you in." The lady at the desk told me. "Oh? Is that so~?" I smirked,
Handing her an envelope. She looked in it and hesitated before looking back up at me. "I can't take this..." She mumbled. "Yes, you can. You see, I know you've been struggling financially. I could only imagine how effected your kids would be if you let down this easy-peasy offer, Melinda~." I assured her, faking my concern. "How do you know that?" She asked, worriedly. "A friend of mine. Anyway, that doesn't matter. What do you say?" I leaned on the counter, awaiting her answer. She looked around nervously before tucking the envelope into her shirt. "Fine... Right this way, Mr. Orihara." She sighed, leading me down the hallway. I smirked and followed. She stopped in front of a door. "Please be quick." She said before walking away. I stepped into the room and looked at the many small silver drawers, filled with files of information. I looked through the one files, until I found the one I was looking for, titled: 'Selena Mecronos'. I found it after a few minutes of looking. I pulled out the small file and opened it, pulling out my phone to take pictures of the information. I laughed to myself and shook my head. They honestly thought they could save her?... She was long gone...

Reader's POV

It's been a few days since... what happened. I've been slowly getting better. I finally took a shower, and I was getting ready for the hearing of Selena's will. My biggest concern was who the cafe was going to. I prayed that it was me. I feel like I could do a good job of keeping it up and running. I finished getting ready, and checked myself out in the mirror. I nodded at my appearance and went to the living room to find Shizuo in his usual bartender get up, minus the vest/bow tie, and plus a blazer. "Hey, Shizu." I said, hugging him. He hugged back and rubbed my back. "How are you feeling?" He asked. "A lot better... As long as we get the cafe..." I replied, smiling a bit. "Only one way to find out." He said, pulling me to the door.

Still Reader's POV

I squeezed Shizuo's hand in anticipation as we sat in the big room with the rest of Selena/our family, that made it onto the will. "And, to (Y/N) Heiwajima and Derrin McConrow, I leave my beloved cafe. Make me proud, like I know you can." The lady read aloud. I smiled wide, and hugged Shizuo tight. "I knew it would be you, kiddo." He said, patting my back. Tears of joy came to my eyes. "Shizuo Heiwajima, you and (Y/N) are very important to me. You guys need more space. I leave you my house, once all my belongings have been sorted through." The lady continued. Shizuo and I's eyes widened. "Shizuo... We don't have to live in that old, damned apartment anymore." I said happily, bringing a hand to my mouth. "See? Things can get better." Shizuo responded, ruffling my hair. I leaned my head onto his shoulder, smiling. Thank you, Selena... Soon after that, the hearing ended and I was given the keys/deed to the cafe, while Shizuo was given the keys/deed to the house. I pulled out my phone and called Derrin. "Hello?" I heard on the other line. "Derrin!" I shouted, drawing a bit of attention to me as Shizuo and I walked home. "What? Is everything okay?" Derrin asked, concerned. "Shizuo and I were at the hearing, and you'll never guess!" I squealed, shaking a bit. "What'd you get?" He questioned. "It's not what I got! It's what we got! Derrin, we got the cafe!" I cheered. "No way! Congrats to us!" Derrin laughed. "I know! I haven't been this happy since... I don't know when!" I squealed. "That's great, (Y/N)! I know you'll make Selena proud." He said. "I know I could never do as good a job as her, but I'm glad I was given the honor." I replied. "You'll do great, (Y/N)." Derrin assured. "Thanks, Der-bear~." I chimed as we reached our apartment. "Anytime~." He chuckled. "Alright, I'm gonna rest a bit. I got so excited, it gave me a headache." I laughed. "Alrighty, bye (Y/N)." Derrin said. "Bye, Der-bear." I responded before hanging up. I walked inside our soon-to-be ex-apartment, and went to my room.

Still Reader's POV

It's been a few days since the hearing of Selena's will. Shizuo and I have officially moved into Selena's place, but we aren't fully unpacked yet. I sat down at Selena's old desk, in her office, at the cafe. I was sorting out the papers and other things that were left behind. Once finished, I grabbed my things an walked out to the main area of the cafe. It was getting late, and I saw Derrin packing up some of the equipment for the day. "I'm gonna go, Der-bear." I said as I walked over. "Okay, I'll close up." He replied, turning to me. I hugged him, and we said our goodbyes. I left the cafe and walked down the darkened streets of Ikebukuro. I felt the all-familiar feeling that I was bein watched. I sighed and stopped. "You can come out now, Izaya..." I spoke bitterly. After a moment, Izaya appeared in front of me. "Long time no see, (Y/N)-chan~."
