Chapter 14

Ruki's P.O.V

I walked inside the house after searching for Lucy for about four hours. She was nowhere to be found and knowing that worried me. Where could she be and why did she walk off of any path that was near? I went upstairs to check and see if she came home one more time because If not then I would go out and search for her again and again until I found her. I opened the door and seen her singing to the twins a peaceful tune. The twins began to fall asleep with smiles on their faces making her smile back. 

"Goodnight you two." She kissed their cheeks before she turned to see me. She looked nervous. At that moment I had caught a scent. Not just any scent but one of a Sakamaki. I walked out of the room and she followed me. I closed the door to the nursery before I looked at her.

"So you went to see him?" Her eyes looked at me with sorrow.

"Ruki"

"Don't Ruki me, you know that you are not allowed to see him. Is that not that what you promised me, Lucy?"

"I know I promised-"

"What did you two do to make you stay away for four hours?" She stared at her feet.

"We only talked." I lifted her head up and made her look at me in my eyes.

"Tell me that again. This time not looking away from me."

"We only talked Ruki."

"About what exactly, is it anything between us?"

" I would never do anything else to hurt you."

"Yet you broke a promise." I glared at her."Just what do you think I should I do to punish you?" She blushed hard before she looked down.

"I guess anything you want." My eyes widened. Never had I expected her to let me actually choose something that she had to do.

"You are to move into my room starting today." Her eyes widened as she looked at me.

"Ruki"

"Do you have anything to say, Lucy?" She shook her head.

"No, goodnight Ruki, I hope you can forgive me one day." She said before she went into my room. I went to the nursery only to see that instead of sleeping that they were staring at me with curiosity. What I had seen was not only me but Lucy as well.

They had her innocence and peace yet somehow they had her happiness as well. Which was something that I didn't see in their mother anymore? So that is why she went to see Laito. It was because she felt like he was her only chance of seeing someone again that she could actually trust and make her happy. The thing is that she returned. I relaxed the twins and helped them go to sleep before I went into my room. As I got inside I had seen Lucy getting ready for bed. I guess I had to make her feel better.
