Athena: You see him too, right?
WWITS: I-I do...
The period before:
Ryan: Alright Ty, I'll see ya later for the project man.
I waved and gave a friendly smile as he walks down the hall into a science class. After he left I kept getting glances from a lot of the girls.
Weird how one person can change how others look at you...
Julia: there you are!! Jeez, that guy wouldn't shut up! Thank the lord the bell cut him off in the 1930s...He's just too much for me to handle anymore. I need to start coming up with more solutions to stay away from him.
As I 'intently' listened to Julia bitch about our principle, Ryan's words kept repeating through my ears.
Jani Believes Athena killed our mother.
I still couldn't wrap my head around the fact that this girl Athena, actually exists, and is related to that leech. No, not Ryan. He's not a bitch, actually the complete opposite which is odd to me. How could the both of them be related to--
Julia: He's so-- Watch out!!
Before I could crank my body in another direction I walked right around the corner into someone. Ugh, is this gonna be another awkward meeting...
But as I looked up from the ground I saw papers lofting to the ground and a girl scrambling to pick them up. She scrunched her sandy locks behind her ear and picked up her fallen glasses just the shove them on her nose, enlarging her crystal blue eyes. I stared at her blankly, muffled voices rising around us.
WIWTS: HOLY FUCKING MOLY. WHAT. ARE. THE. CHANCES. It's, its really her. It's Athena, what should I--
Athena: S-sorry, I should've moved out of the way.
Why was she the one apologizing? I was the one daydreaming about, well her.
My SL: It's fine really, I was spacing out...
WIWTS: About you.
Before Julia was able to translate to her, a ghost of a smile appeared on her features.
Athena: You're Tyler Greene right? I've actually been looking for you. The project you shared with me, why is it finished already? I haven't worked on any of it...it's amazing work but I feel bad that someone else did my part.
I just stared at her not knowing if I should answer her questions first or ask how she could tell it was me...
Well that's a stupid questions, it's obvious isn't? Everyone can make noise come out of their mouth except you smart one.
That annoying conscious of mine comes at all the wrong moments
Athena: Um...Tyler? D-did I overstep...?
I raised my hands, but literally had no idea what to say.
Julia: No, no you're fine. Ty just gets shy around unfamiliar people...sometimes sarcastic in awkward situations too...
I could feel her eyes rolling, and I bet she knew that my smile was growing by the second. Athena lightly shook her head then turned back to me, her eyes alight and her ear buds falling from her ears into her beige shoulder bag.
Athena: Well then, My names Athena Winters. My cousin told me about you and Julia being in our group for Literature. It's great to finally meet you, I'm not in school a lot so you probably won't be seeing me a lot before presentations.
My SL: You know sign language too? (shakes hands out) I meant it's cool, or uh you're cool. I mean it's cool to meet you I'm Tyler Greene. Well you kinda already knew that...
Why do I keep tripping up?!?! Okay Ty, just breath. There's no huge reason to be freaking out over running into a girl that you thought was part of your hallucinations, only to find out that she's real. Totally normal.
Before I could get my shit together she started laughing. Athena, laughing...like a goddess blessing her people with peace and health. Her light shining down upon the earth below her, healing the cities and towns from war and destruction. I stared dazed by her beauty as she looked down giggling covering her enlightening lips with her fingers.
As she calmed down she was about to speak again when a group of girls came up to us and hands us a blue sheet of paper.
Girl 1: See ya there cutie.
She walks away winking at me as she turns to her friends laughing. I look down to the paper that was in my hands and see the big bolded words of "Homecoming Party." I looked back at Athena to see her putting it away in her bag.
Athena: What? It's the same party the Mantzaris triplets throw every year for our grade. I'll probably show up for a half hour to make sure my brother doesn't do anything stupid.
My SL: Y-you have a brother? That's actually surprising.
Athena: Yeah haha...we don't talk much but he's there, very overbearing, so I should probably catch up with you later.
As she starts down the hallway I turn around to see a huge italian looking guy staring daggers at me. Ten bucks says tat's her brother. Jesus.
I can hear him cracking his knuckles from down the hall, his teeth like sand paper grinding together. The veins popping from his skull, as his eyes burn with a desire to protec. hahaha just kidding but seriously this kid freaking crazy looking. Like an amateur gang leader.
I turned to start walking away following Julia towards my class, only a few feet away, when my shoulder was yanked back by what felt like a Neanderthal.
???: Are you fucking insane? Do you know who the hell she is?!? Stay the fuck away from her if you know what's good for the both of you.
WIWTS: What the actual fuck is going on?
Before I could raise my hands the bell went off, and the mountain of a man shoved me away towards the lockers making Julia turn back towards us.
???: Saturday night the Mantzaris' house 10pm don't fucking be late for your beating asshat.
My what? What just happened?
