Phaethon's POV:
Zeus: Ah, my brother and sweet nephew have returned to me. Thank you dearly my sweet daughter for fetching them for me.
I turned to look at Athena, harshly glaring at her father, then to Helios who had began to step forward.
Helios: Your daughter was not he one to bring us. Twas I. I've come to relieve my son of his curse, and take by punishment from you brother.
Zeus stared him down, stroking his chiseled-to-perfection chin with two fingers. Then he stood up and walked down the marbled steps leading up to his throne, now only 5 yards away from us.
Zeus: No.
Everyone's heads snapped to attention, wide-eyed stares coming from every corner of the temple directed at Zeus' singled out word.
What the hell does he mean by no? Isn't this what he wanted? Now I'm really confused.
Apollo: F-father, what more does he need to do for you? He's surrendered himself to you.
Zeus didn't answer himself, but instead turned to the only full mortal in the room...my mother.
Helios: Clymene...
She snapped in his direction, her eyes wavering for a moment then turning away to face the floor.
Zeus: Helios, my brother. Please tell me why I have sentenced you to be banished from oblivion, cursed you son, and why I have a mortal woman in our presence at the moment. Please, enlighten us all with you sun my young brother.
Helios thought for a moment, glancing up at the love of his life a few too many times, then shook his head no.
Athena: If he doesn't, then father please allow me! I know enough to speak.
Zeus looked down upon his daughter with disgust and rage incubated within his eyes.
Zeus: You dare test me you incompetent child!
He through his hand in the air sending his only daughter flying into the back wall. My feet moved on there own toward the pile of rubble on top of my childhood friend.
Zeus: HALT! If you take another step towards her I'll restart your life at this spot!
I had to do a double take. Save Athena, and start the cycle over, or save Athena and kill the old bastard? I think we all know the answer to that.
Helios: Gods and Goddesses cannot die Phaethon.
The rubble began to clear, and Athena arose with no marks, or bruising. She wore glowing armor and a goddesses white robes. She looked agitated, very mature for her age, and had a fire in her eyes as she pulled out her medallion. She looked ready to win a fearsome battle.
