Alex's POV

Loud, obnoxious dance music blasted through 2 huge speakers while people danced -more like dry-humped eachother. The atmosphere reeked of alcohol and weed, and some people had brought their bongs to share with their group of friends. One young DJ was sitting and playing different songs in a badly set up area for him that was near the living room full of people holding beers and vodka, who swayed to the rhythm of his tunes.

"Can you remind me again why did we come to Audree's party?" Groaning, I faced Nina, who was humming along to the crappy music.

"You and Evan are basically done, right?" I nodded. "Right. Being the best friend I am, I thought it would be a good idea to bring your depressed ass in here so you get loose and have fun."

I rolled my eyes. "First, I'm not depressed, just a bit emotional over my boyfriend of almost 9 months treating me like crap after I didn't want to have sex with him." I took a deep breath and continued. "Second, the music in here is shitter than your music library, Nina."

Nina just laughed and took my hand. "C'mon Alex, I know you enjoy parties. Stop thinking about Evan's stupid ass for once and have fun!" She beamed in.

I smiled. For the past 24 hours, Nina has been doing everything she could in order to make me crack a smile, but she has been failing miserably. Last night after I left the hotel and went straight home, I broke down and cried myself to sleep like a baby after looking through the countless pictures Evan and I had took these past 9 months.

Are we still dating? I don't think so. Evan probably despised me at the moment.

"You need some alcohol in your system." Nina then tossed me one of the red cups and I looked down at it, recognizing the strong aroma of vodka and coke.

Taking one sip, I smiled at my best friend. "Thank you for not wanting to punch me in the face despite me being an emotional wreck to you these past 24 hours."

Nina just shrugged. "That's what best friends do." Looking around, her eyes fixed on a small crowd of people we knew from school. We walked to them and greeted each one with small, short hugs.

"Alex!" Audree hugged me way too tight for my liking. She was wearing a red mini skirt and a crop top that were made out of the same fabric. "I'm glad you and Nina made it to my party!" Her black pumps and dark red lipstick made her look like some vampire, ready to bite any guy who approached her.

"It's no big deal." I was about to keep talking when Audree cut me off.

"Is Luke coming?" Audree bit her bottom lip and giggled, she was probably drunk as hell already.

I stopped myself from rolling my eyes at her and just shrugged. "I didn't know you had invited him."

Audree pouted. "I sent him a few texts, but he never replied." Her eyes turned cold, and she was now glaring at me. I took ahold of Nina's wrist.

"Is Michael coming?" I whispered in her ear, and she nodded.

"If you want to ask me if Luke is coming, go ahead." Nina noticed my deep scowl and spoke again. "Nah, he's not coming."

"Oh." Was all I could say. I was slightly angry at Nina because I knew that Michael coming meant that I would be left alone in a party full of people I didn't really care about, but at the same time I was happy to know they are seeing each other often now.

After a few minutes of chatting about banal things with the small group, Nina and I went to the kitchen in search of food.

"Doritos won't make up for the fact I'm hungry as shit." Nina yelled as her hands traveled through the kitchen's cabinets. The volume of the music in this area was even higher and I was ready to chop my head off, when Nina approached me with a pack of mac and cheese.
