32-Mariel-The Happenings

   thirty two, give me my shoe

             I expected moving here would be less drama than my old place. To be honest, this is more drama than I've ever seen. For starters, Lily is constantly whining about her subs dropping. She went from over 3 million to barely 500K. I guess a ton of people side with Alex, but she blames it on the current state of Youtube. That's just statistical, though.

         One major thing is that Chai sneaks out of his window and goes who knows where. Everyone is currently betting on who his girlfriend is. Lily seems to know most of the girls around here, so she has an investigation chart of all the possibilities. The thing is, I know him. If he had a girl he would never shut up about her. On top of that, he would never leave her side. I feel like he's doing something else, but I dont know what. The only other reason would be to talk to Alex and Oli who moved here recently, but I don't think he would betray the house hold like that. 

      Lily was peeved when they moved here. She says that they are just being overdramatic. On top of that, Alex is now going to Lily's "dream college", so she declared war against their house. I kid you not, she is trying to go tp their place. Honestly I don't care about this nonsense. for heavens sake, I'm getting a divorce and Chai is the only person who has even asked if i'm okay!

      But on the topic of breakups, their is our roommate James. I think Scott is the only persion not to notice how close lily and him are being. A few days ago Scott quit youtube fulltime ancd got a job at a nearby factory. During the day James and Lily spend most every second of every day together. I try to see the good in everyone but honestly I have nothing to say about any of this. Scott is one of my closest friends and I don't want him to have to go through this. I feel like this is a toxic relationship for him and I don't want him to get hurt.   

      I heard him come through the house and tried to talk to him, but he deflected, goung out the door. His shift tonight starts at midnight, so I have not clue why he is leaving at 11.  I decided to go snoop around the house to see if there was anything I could use as evidence. I heard Lily opening the door so I dove into the nearest room: Chai's. When I got in he was halfway out the window, talking on the phone. "I have to call you back," he said, ending the call. 

      "What are doing in here, Mariel?" he asked. I cocked an eyebrow at him and he sighed, stepping down. He walked over and sat on the rather girly bed. I have no clye why he got this room and I didn't; it's literally a girl's room. The general atmosphere of it makes me want to gossip and paint my nails. He continued to stare at me as I thought this over. "The real question is what are YOU doing." I snapped.

     He sighed again and began to explain. "I'm the rat. I go over to Alex and Oli's, have dinner, and then spill the beans. They know about everything, okay? I'm sorry, Mariel, but I pick my own battles." I wish I could say I did something rational, but I didn't. I collapse where I stood and started laughing. oh wow! I mean I knew he didn't have  a girlfriend, but this is just sad!

    He sat there as I regained my composure. "Well?" He said. I looked him dead in the eye and responded. "Make sure they know about what's happening with James and Lily." With that I walked out of the room, leaving him to do whatever. This is war, and I know who is going to win.
