Thirty five, I'm in a bee hive

A week or so ago Alex started going back to school. This means I get roughly eight hours everyday to myself. What do I do with them you might find yourself asking? Nothing really. I mean she takes the car with her, and I don't even have my license here yet.  Most the time spent here is just us filing paperwork to be honest.

Chai pulled into the driveway to take me places. Wow, I can make a sentence. The first place we went was to the DMV to try and get my license. We only waited in line for a couple of minutes, but it felt like eons. When we finally got to the front of the line I was confronted with a sweet looking old lady. Too sweet.

She took what felt like a year to quiz me on my personal life, and I was to polite to say anything rude to her. When she finally got done asking me if I was single and what my girlfriend is like and if I'm gonna marry her and- I really could go on. Anyways after she was done asking me all this she handed me a form to fill out, then told me to go to a different line so I could do the driver's test.

I'll spare you the details, but I passed. Just barely though.  I took the picture, looking like a moron, and left. On the way home I dropped Chai off and then went to attend some personal business. He said he needed time by himself to think, so  I figure this is sort of a win-win. I drove for a few miles until I came up to a large brick building.

I walked up to it and singed in, waiting for my appointment. When they came in and called my name I nearly jumped out of the chair. As I walked in I noticed that it was the complete opposite of what I thought it would be like. The room was full on Dodie Clark yellow, and a lady sat on a turquoise beanbag.

I sat on the chair opposite her as she started talking. So at this point I'm sure you wonder what the heck I am doing here. Today, I get to go to therapy! Woo! It wasn't my idea, but Alex worries that I've become depressed. I don't really believe in this sort of thing, but I'd do this or her.

After a hour and a lot of me ranting about dumb things, I left. It wasn't all that interesting, but it was nice to talk to someone without them having an opinion. Alex is saying that she wants to make sure that I take care of this stuff before I develop depression. I drove back to Chai's place and then started walking down the street. When I got to Ash- Skye's place, I went in to meet a friend.

Scott sat in the corner with a pizza as I walked in. I sat by him in the booth and started talking. Alex doesn't know I do this, yet, but me and Scott meet every once in a while to chat like the old times. To us in the moment, the war doesn't matter. We talk about most any other drama in the friend group we can think of. I guess Jess and Callum got engaged, so that's neat.

"So when are Alex and you getting married?" Scott said, acting like a child. I laughed and looked out the window. "Well, I have a ring I just.. need a scenario" I sighed, looking at him. He got all giddy and raised a glass to me, saying, "may the odds be forever in your favor." I laughed as we kept talking. Skye came by and sat by us, so I made my move: I slapped her.

"What was that for!" She yelled, staring me down. "Oh, Alex said once in Middle school she threatened to slap you, but never did. So I did," I explained, causing her to laugh. She shook her head and said she had to get back to work. I said that I had to go if I wanted to be home by the time Alex got out, and left.

I drove back to the house and then let Chai take the car back. I sat on the couch and played on my phone, not thinking about much anything. The original plan was to have dinner with Alex and then go see IT, but I fell asleep. When I woke up I got some upsetting news from Scott.
