I felt extremely nervous. When I told my mom that I was going to bring my boyfriend over this Thanksgiving, she was over the top happy.

"Are you serious? You are bringing your boyfriend over?? Honey, That's amazing!!" Mom squealed as she exclaimed at the news.

"Yes, I'm bringing my boyfriend. Is that so hard to believe?" I said, giggling.

"Frank!! Lizzie is bringing her boyfriend over!!!!" Mom shouted to my dad.

"What?! Boyfriend?! Do I have to get my gun out?" Dad's voice was heard over the phone.

"Mom, remind dad that he doesn't even own a gun." I said as I rolled my eyes. My dad was always the protective one, saying that I'll forever be his little angel.

"No need, we are on speaker." Mom said, chuckling.

"Oh. Hi, dad." I said, my voice perking up.

"What's that I hear about you having a boyfriend? When did that happen?" Dad asked.

"Actually, I'm curious about it too. Give me the details!" Mom said, and I could almost picture her shaking my father in excitement.

"Well, I-"

"Hey, hon. Whatcha doing?" Jack said, grinning as he held two grocery bags.

"Is that your boyfriend? Let us say hi!" Mom squeal was followed by my dad muttering "I don't want to say hi." which was again followed by my mom's "Behave!".

"Oh, Were you talking to your parents?" Jack's face kind of paled as he tried to give his chipper voice to my parents. "I should have given you guys a call earlier. Hi, I'm Jack, Lizzie's boyfriend."

"Nice to meet you, honey! We can't wait to actually meet you this Thanksgiving!" My mom said excitedly.

"Ow! Uh..Yeah. Nice to meet you, son." My dad said, probably rubbing his side as he spoke.

"Mom, you just had to punch dad?" I said, laughing.

"Anyway, You guys should leave bright and early in the morning. The traffic is going to be crazy if you guys leave late." Mom said, trying to change the subject.

"Will do, Mrs.Walters." Jack said.

"Oh, and don't use public transportations! Lizzie hates using it." Dad said.

"Um..I'll drive us there!" Jack said, looking kind of puzzled.

I mentally slapped my dad's back. Why did he have to say that?!

"Well, okay. See you guys." Mom hurriedly ended the call, leaving us in a silence.

"Well, what should I bring to Thanksgiving?" Jack grinned, gesturing to the bags he just brought.
