Broken Keys
Chapter Twelve
Don’t be afraid of the dark.
Life involves making important decisions. And I am about to make a big one. I am going to murder Taylor when I find her worthless ass!
It has been over half an hour and I still haven’t seen any sign of her. The forest was dark, eerie, and worst of all freezing cold. I gripped my overcoat closer to me, which didn’t really help at all.
I should have turned back a while ago but I didn’t want to leave Taylor out here all alone. If she wants to ever have a real friendship with me she is going to have to stop drinking. Period.
I felt waves of shivers tremble down my body. I kept thinking about Derrick and somehow if he was here, I would feel so much warmer. The thought of him being near me raised my temperature slightly, but not enough to make a big difference. Speaking of Derrick, where on earth is he? I know he was trying to break up a fight but I would at least hope that he would notice my absence and come looking for me.
“Taylor!” I screamed for the millionth time. I searched for ten more minutes then decided to go back to the bonfire and get help. The only problem was I wasn’t sure which way to go. I spun around in circles trying to find anything that seemed familiar, but everything looked alike. Every direction I turned there appeared to be the same exact tree and bush. Panic started to fill my emotions as I realized I was completely lost in a forest that was probably filled with dangerous wild life. On top of that, I thought no one would be coming to save me. Someone would have to come eventually right? Jamie knew I went to the bonfire and Derrick has to know that I am gone by now. Right?
Rustling coming from a near by bush distracted my thoughts. I glared nervously at the bush and started questioning my sanity. I was sane because the bush continued to shake.
I crept over towards the dark green shrub and tried peering through it, to see if I could make out anything. But it was too thick. Here goes nothing, I thought as my hand slowly maneuvered its way down to the bush. “One. Two. Three.” I counted aloud. I tore the bush apart with my hands and sighed with relief as I saw a small rabbit munching on a few berries.
“Too paranoid,” I whispered to myself. I left the rabbit and turned back around expecting to find nothing but the trees I glanced at before. Although my expectations are never what I hope and the large animal that stood before me had my heart screaming with beats. I let out a piercing scream, as my nightmares became reality.
The long wait is over!!! Yahoooooo!!!! School is out and your author is back. I wanted to post something as soon as possible for yall so that is the reason why this chapter is short. Derrick's POV is coming up so get pumped! I will post ever 3-4 days so not too long of a wait. I have a lot in store for this story so I hope everyone sticks around. Comment, vote, fan. Thanks!
