The raven-haired man didn't want to think about the past nonetheless worry about it. However, no matter how far he was away from his true home it always seemed to come catching up. Everything happens for a reason, yet Castiel didn't like to think that Y/N not being his friend meant something.

No matter how hard he seemed to try Castiel simply couldn't get Y/N off his mind, whilst forgetting the burning pain in his chest. He didn't want to return... However, there was no way in hell that he would miss the funeral.

His hometown still looked the same and reeked of the same homey smell that he knew and still loves. The coffee shop still stood strong, some good times he had in that building. Like the time he and Y/N ordered ten coffees to pull an allnighter. Something in which they completed ten video games during, close to eleven before they passed out.

The blue-eyed man wanted nothing more than to see his mother and broths and reassure them that everything would be ok... However, he wouldn't believe his own words. Castiel wanted so deeply to comfort his family although there was no one left to comfort him.

Y/N always had been there in his hard time to reassure him that everything would be ok. However, now he didn't have that... When things go wrong they seemed to be ten times harder. He didn't have someone to make him laugh through cries, showing him that everything is going to be ok nonetheless someone to reassure him what he was living for.

Sure without discretion Castiel's grades in college skyrocketed, however, he didn't have anything to do besides studying. He missed his mother and brothers... And father. Yet, more importantly, he missed his best friend; the one that was supposed to help him out in a time like this.

Yet she was nowhere to be found in this godforsaken town... A town that Castiel no longer loved as it brought back amazing memories in which only brought him pain. He didn't find any signs of hope, Y/N had left town just like him. Yet Castiel couldn't help but feel relieved. Maybe he didn't want to face his past, and she was his past.

Things could be awkward... Nonetheless, go horribly wrong and he couldn't take any of that right now. Simply one thing could throw him over the edge. Caste was utterly terrified of having a breakdown, this one hadn't happened since... Since Y/N and he stopped being friends.

A panic attacked ripped through him like a tornado catching him by surprise, alas he passed by the school. He didn't like the memories that came flooding back however, he had no way of putting an end to him.

"Your father... Wait when did he come back?" Castiel questioned shocked at his friend's friend's words eyes wide.

"He came back a couple of weeks ago... Aren't you happy for me Cassy?" She questioned holding out her arms to him however, he didn't move to do the same, this causing his friend to raise an eyebrow.

"Why didn't you tell me... I would love to meet him," The friend explained trying not to seem hurt.

Y/N nodded through a wide grin. "Yeah, he's going to pick me up from school if you want to meet him," So that day after school was the first and last time Castiel met Y/N's father... As it had been obvious to anyone and everyone that her father didn't like him... Except it wasn't too obvious to the blue-eyed man.

That being when things began plummeting downhill fast.

Bully after bully, loss after loss, Y/N seems to be less and less with Castiel as it was supposed to be... As it should be. Freshman year Y/N would have jumped in front of the bullies protecting her blue-eyed best friend however in Junior year that ceased to be the case.

"Cas..." Y/N questions as the yanked in their treehouse stargazing together through the broken roof.

"What?" He questioned glancing down at the little ball of person rolled up into his side.

"Will we be best friends forever... Because everyone at school keeps saying that we won't," she murmured sheepishly never meeting his gaze.

"Well, we will Y/N... As long as we believe we can," He reassured running fingers through her soft locks of hair.

"Your mom wanted me to tell you that the cookies were ready I don't know how we ended up here," She giggled going to get off of him although he quickly pulled her back to him.

"The cookies can wait," He reassured through a wide grin. "After all this is our last time for this before winter," The raven-haired friend sighed. "Of course we'll always be friends,"

"Man I don't know what I would do without you Cassy," Y/N laughed staring back up at the twinkling stars.

"I don't know what I would do without you either Y/N/N... I would probably be bored out of my mind,"

"Is that all I am to you... A distraction?" Y/N tried to look offended however failed to cause them to both bursts out laughing.

"No, but seriously Cassy friends forever?" Her small pinky was then held up to his small one as the young ten-year-old locked his with hers.

"I promise," However their friendship could only last so long whilst bullies and loss, yet, more importantly, chaos seems to tear them apart.

For once in his life Castiel felt fully alone, yet only did his friend cease to care for him anymore yet none of the teachers at his godforsaken school did either.  No one cared to break up the fight, and let Castiel out of his misery. Azazel owned the school keeping all of his victims too terrified to speak up that he was the definition of a bully. With all his goons to back him up.

They were simply outnumbered to do anything about him. Nonetheless, put an end to his madness, and since everyone was so terrified of him he never got suspended nonetheless punished. As no one ever dared talk about him, as they would get bullied as well.

That's how fucked up this school and its system was.

After minutes which felt like an eternity to the raven-haired man getting his face bashed in a teacher finally broke them up. Blood spattered everywhere from his black and blue nose, as his eyes swelled up so much to the point where he couldn't see.

"I'll kill you if you touch my girlfriend again!... Kill you!" Azazel exclaimed getting held back by teachers.

Castiel didn't understand what the hell was going on as the last thing he would ever want to do would be to upset Azazel. He had only touched Y/N on the shoulder to get her attention to tell her something funny that happened last night that he thought she would like.

It was then that Castiel found himself broken and bloodied. Students scurried away, As teachers surrounded the raven-haired man asking frantically if he was alright. He didn't reply though he couldn't. He found himself beaten up the worst he's ever been before. However, one thing clicked his mind...

Y/N had some explaining to do.
