Castiels' trench coat flailed in the wind behind him whilst he didn't have words for the things around him. It seemed as though God had been trying to punish him for bringing him back to his past... Back to the past that involved someone he no longer had contact with. He didn't want to think about the things weighing him down, the things giving him nightmares at night thus the things that controlled his every move.

The blue-eyed man thought that everyone had the same thing... That everyone had been beaten up growing up, that everyone had lost a best friend however that ceased to be the case. His family seemed to be taking everything just fine however Castiel... Well, he wouldn't part with his trench coat, not even to sleep. Knowing that it was the last and only thing he had left of his father.

Castiel wasn't fond of the fact that Y/N might be seen tomorrow, he didn't want to see her much less talk to her. Although Gabriel had warned him that she might just show up at the funeral he knew that wasn't very likely. He tossed and turned that night his brain unable to keep the many thoughts away.

Worry seemed to be the thing that stuck with him through the night... Throughout his life. Even though his mother had calmed him down, it only seemed to come back. Everything always seemed to come back. He wanted things back to when he was young, happily with two parents, two brothers and a best friend by his side.

However, it had been years and years and still, no luck had been found, he's beginning to think it simply isn't there. Castiel thought long and hard about why this would happen to him and yet nothing came up. He had so many things to tell his father, Y/N and even Azazel... Hell, the trench-coated man had so many roasts for the bully it wasn't even funny.

Gabriel had bought their mother a night at a spa resort to keep her mind off of things for the night, so it just happened to be Castiel alone in the house he used to call home. He wanted the best for his mother he loved her, however, he was glad to be alone. Although maybe he didn't like being alone knowing full well all the thoughts that love raiding his mind.

However, the best part about being alone is that there was nothing stopping him from letting out his feelings, all of his emotions that he had been building up. His new mental barrier was so good that Y/N would never ever be able to snake her way into it... Never again.

The blue-eyed man counted the minutes that passed by, knowing that each one pushed him closer and closer to leaving... Leaving the town that haunted him. He couldn't bear to stay here any longer, the thought of his past once again biting him in the ass left him restless. He simply wanted to finish college and get a good job. Is that too much to ask for?

The crisp air woke Castiel up that night, like a punch to the face. Goosebumps formed across his skin whilst his trench coat couldn't even keep him warm under the moonlight. He decided to skip out on sleep... As who needs that anyway?

"Y-You work here?" Castiel questioned with a gulp looking at the man behind the counter of what used to be his favorite coffee shop.

"Actually I own the place," He smiled in return looking the raven-haired man up and down. "You haven't changed a bit,"

"Why the hell does everyone keep telling me that?" The blue-eyed man asked throwing his hands up in the air.

"I heard what happened to your father. I'm sorry," The blonde barista apologized handing Castiel his hot chocolate.

"You're sorry? You're the one that drove my best friend away... You're the one that beat me up on multiple occasions... You're not sorry," Castiel snapped back snatching his drink from the bully through wide eyes not able to believe that this was truly happening.

"I truly am sorry... I'm sorry about everything," He tried to reason thus the raven-haired man searched through his wallet for money. "I didn't know any better back then But now I do,"

"Here," The blue-eyed man mumbled handing him a five-dollar bill. "Please just keep the change," Suddenly he found himself out the door and in the car where the burning tears hit his eyes.

He pounded on the steering wheel not having any other way to deal with the pain he was feeling... With all of these emotions. His breathing became uneven whilst once he finally began to calm down he could be found with a blank stare at the wall. Maybe his family was right... Maybe he does need a therapist.

Although the thought of expressing his emotions to someone terrified the raven-haired man... Especially if it happened to be all of them.

Castiel sat on the doorstep of his mother's house, enjoying the fresh air of the night, this is  calms his nerves. The bitter night nipped at his skin however the trench-coated man ceased to care. Though once he finished his hot chocolate and went to go put it inside the thing in front of the door stopped him... How had he not noticed it before?

There was was a vase of flowers on the front porch... They were beautiful lilies, a flower in which happened to be his favorite. Although he wanted nothing more than to put the flowers to his face and sniff them... A note attached to them caught his eye.
A note the surely had to have been from the person who left them.

His heart clenched at the thought of who might have sent them, he instantly thought that maybe they were simply for his mother, for Gabriel or even Lucifer... No one cared enough about him to do such a thing... To do such a kind gesture.

However, his theory had been put to shame once he read the card... The card that would change his life forever. Once again proving that this town was no good for Castiel, and maybe he needed another scenery change.

"She moved to Kansas?" He questioned again pacing the porch glancing back at the flowers from time to time through wide eyes. "No... No... No... She isn't supposed to care about me she hates me," His words began to reassure him less and less than they were intended thus his heart beat faster once he realized why she had chosen those flowers.

His thoughts had consumed him, whilst he didn't think Y/N still cared and yet here this was. Here her well thought out gifts and letters were sitting on the front porch. She still cared for him and yet he didn't know if he still did her. Thus bringing the problem.

"No... No, I can't do that," He whispered to himself reading the letter over and over again. "Well I mean she isn't dating Azazel anymore so that's a good sign..." He contemplated what he wanted to do next before finally coming to a conclusion... One that would change everything.

"I'm going to come to find you Y/N... I know where you live now," And before he could even realize what was going on he was in the car on his way to Kansas.
