"One day we're going to live together... Buy a house-"

"Maybe we could build one right here," Y/N exclaimed through a wide grin. "It'll be perfect and no one will ever bother us here we'll be able to swim endlessly in the stream and watch the stars," She gazed up at the clouds in awe, knowing fully well that this was where she wanted to stay in life, where she wanted to grow in life.

However, his views on things would change and she simply didn't know it yet she wanted nothing more than to spend her days teasing Castiel about his crushes and having someone by her side to protect her through it all. However, they were all too good to be true and surely something could drag them apart.

They could live an amazing life together, keeping one another safe through the toughest of times.

"Doesn't that cost a lot of money?" Castiel questioned with a tilt to his head. However, he noticed that his best friend wasn't paying attention to him, and guilty made sure to splash her across the face.  "Are you even listening to me?"

"We can have it right here and have a porch there and a-"

"Y/N you're not even listening where the heck are we going to get this money?" He questioned, glancing at her through a laugh when she whipped the water from her face again whilst Castiel had splashed her again.

"We're going to be rich and famous... Duh?" She exclaimed, though it came out more like a question.

"Oh yeah and how are we going to do that?" He asked trying to hold in his chuckle.

"Well we're going to get our own TV show about being best friends, DUH!" she exclaimed through a laugh pushing Castiel away when he tried to splash her again. "You're not going to get me that easily," Suddenly Y/N had disappeared under the water, Castiel giggling at her childless unexpectedly feeling hands grip his legs tugging him down underneath the water so that he was fully submerged.

"No fair I didn't do that you," Castiel pouted his damp hair stuck to his forehead whilst he tried to remove it.

"That's what you get... Karma," Y/N laughed holding her arms out. "Come on I'll hug you and make you feel better,"

"No... I don't trust you," He laughed climbing out of the freezing water and putting a towel around his shoulders. Instead of ignoring her touch he let it in pulling her into his firm chest where he let her in, where she had then become trapped.

"You're trapped now," He whispered through a smirk.

"Well, that's alright... I don't mind," She laughed through a wide smile Castiel didn't know it then, yet that's the day their treehouse had been born.

That's the day the first thought of it had occurred. He had always assumed they had simply wanted it one day. Never able to remember after all the long and busy years. Castiel was going to leave the town that night, not caring what anyone thought of his nonetheless what the hell happened.

He had to go and get Y/N because she deserved to be here just as much as him because his father had been nothing less of a father to her as well and everyone knows chucks' heart broke as well when he and Y/N quit being friends.

He remembers his father taking them to the museum one time and movies whenever something good was the coconut. He looked back on his father making them breakfast on night that Y/N would stay the night he would always make them the same thing. Castiel chocolate chip pancakes and Y/N blueberry.  Those were the best team of all. All of them around the table food in their lips with laughs filling the air. They would talk about the stupidest of things his dad always telling the cheesiest Dad Jokes.

Castiel at this moment in time would give anything to hear his father tell a dad joke one more time. One last time.

Castiel didn't want to live in the past however the past seemed to be so much better than the present. He was risking everything right now all to see Y/N again. Someone he thought he hated. All to make sure that his father gets a chanced to say goodbye to her before he's gone for good. The raven-haired man regrets till this day not visiting his family, maybe he would have gotten the chance to say goodbye to his father.

However, he couldn't change the past so there was nothing he or anyone else could do to change that. He's given up once again everything for her, for her to come back to her senses and see the man who helped through many years of hardships. The man who looked at her like she was his own daughter...

Castiel had given up everything only having a couple of days to find Y/N and bring her back in time to see him get buried. To see the man that had taken the role of both of their broths get buried. He contemplated string around although it seemed though his body didn't want to let him.

The blue-eyed man didn't know why the hell he would even do this. Guilt washed over him knowing fully well that he should be back there to comfort is family... However, he knew that he'd be back, that he'd return back in time of everything. Even if that meant without Y/N.

He rehearsed over and over in his mind what he was going to say to her going to tell her...  His whole body had bubbled with excitement however that had quickly be taken over by nervousness. It had taken him by surprise when he came close to the outskirts of the town.

When he came close to leaving everything behind for one girl. Y/N deserved to be here and he had to make sure she knew that... That she knows that that's still wanted whilst even if she had said all of those horrible things during their right that his father still wanted her there, that her father still wants her there.

Because at the end of the day she was his daughter and there was no denying that. She would be there if they were still friends and even if they weren't she still deserved to be there now. And Castiel wasn't going to stop until she was... Until it became too late.

The exit of the town was near ahead, Castiel's headlights shining upon it... He stated at the outside of town knowing fully well that once he left there was turning back, once he got to Kansas there would be no turning back.

Hell, he knew that things would be different between him and Y/N, that they would be awkward... And that she'd probably yell at him, and that she'd look different... However, he would never expect her to be different. However, in the back of his mind, he knew that she had probably changed, just like his family, just like this town, just like the school bully and even just like himself.

Once Castiel made it outside of the town, he made sure to look back in his mirror one last time the image of the forest him and Y/N used to go all the time, now clouded with nothing except parking lot... Maybe it was for the better.
