Chapter Eight

Mari-Anna Pov

The rest of the lesson dragged on, slowly, when finally the bell for recess rang. I packed up my books and headed to the door, as the rest of the class did. I was just about to walk out, when someone lightly tapped me on the shoulder. I turned to find Erik standing in front of me, with a big grin. “Oh hey, Erik,” I smiled weakly.

“Hey I never got to introduce myself properly, he held out his hand, “I’m Erik, Erik Moore.”

“Nice to meet you,” I shook his hand. Suddenly a girlie voice called out, “Erik?!” I recognized the voice, it was Kelly.

“Um, sorry Mari-Anna, I gotta jet, I’ll see you around,” he ran out of the room before sI could reply. Shrugging, I walked out of the room, where Aish was waiting patiently

Aish’s Pov

When Mari walked out of the room, I couldn’t help but smile. She is so beautiful. When she walked up to me, my grin became wider. “How was drama?” I asked as she stood next to me.

“Yeah alright,” she just shrugged, “Are we going outside or…?” she asked me, she looked like she need some fresh air.

“Yes, of course, let’s go.” I offered my arm so she could link her arm through mine. A smile grew on her face, ‘I love her smile,’ I thought to myself, when she linked her arm through mine. I walked through the two big wooden doors that lead outside and looked around to find a table with two girls. I gestured to Mari to sit down next to me, as I plopped onto the bench.

“Well, what a fine day it is, its sun shining and I’m surrounded by girls, beautiful ones I might add.”

“Oh my gosh, Aish.” April started to speak and turned to face him, “I think I’m falling for your charm.”

Melanie snickered, “Oh yes, I think I am too.”

“Really?” my grin grew and I looked at Mari to find her blushing, ‘Well, she’s cute,’ I thought. The girls started laughing, “Are you for real? Of course not, idiot.” I rolled my eyes and pretended to be disappointed. “Now that hurts,” I faked a sob.

“You knew we were joking, Aish,” Melanie rolled her eyes at me.

“No shit Sherlock.”

I noticed Mari was very quiet; I looked at her for a moment.

“Um, who is she?” April asked looking at Mari with a frown.

I finally realised why she was so quiet, “I’m terribly sorry Mari-Anna,” I smiled weakly, “Mari this is April,” I pointed to the girl with long brunette hair, “and this is Melanie,” I then pointed to the girl with jet black, silky hair.

I hoped the girls would get along, that’s when I heard Mari speak up.

“Hey,” she sounded confident when greeting them.

“Hey,” both Mel and April replied with smiles.

‘Well, this is a good start,’ I thought as the girls started to chatter about girly things, ‘Oh great..’ I groaned in my thought, 'I think these girls are gonna be a handful.'

I felt someone looking at me, I looked at Mari-Anna who had a smile on her face and was looking at me with her beautiful pale blue eyes.

I smiled back and stared at her eyes, when I was interrupted by a discreet cough. Pulling out of my trance, I looked over at the two girls who were giggling and winking at me. 'I swear they always know when I like a girl.' I raised my eyebrows at them, "What?" I asked, curiously.

"Oh nothing," April smiled and went back to talking to Mel.
