Melanie's Pov
The rest of the day dragged on, April and I were sitting in the library reading 'Faerie Tales,' when they were interrupted by some loud, laughing girls, who had just entered the library.
"Oh my god, I can't believe he did that, I mean she's such a loser!"
I groaned when I heard the annoying high pitched voice and put my book in her bag. April sighs and packs up her stuff, grabbing our bags we headed towards the exit. Just before we walked out the doors, someone shouted, "Melanie?" I froze, letting out a big sigh and turned around, even though I knew who called my name. A girl with red hair in a ponytail was standing there with a hand on her hip. " I thought it was you," the girl smirked, "how are you, Mel-Mel?" she asked, while another girl snickered at the nickname.
I just shrugged, "the usual, how about you Kelly?" I responded politely, even though this girl didn't deserve it.
"Good thanks," she smiles mischievously, "I think Erik is looking for you," my heart started to race but slowed down as Kelly said, "Wait, I mean Aish, Erik is looking for me, my mistake."
I replied with “thanks,” and headed to the doors again.
“Oh, by the way Mel,” Kelly smirked, “Nice gum, on your shoes,” she laughed as she walked away.
“Bitch,” April mumbled, as I looked to find nothing on my shoes, I sighed.
“I can’t believe we used to be friends with her two years ago,” April said with disbelief.
“Yeah but you see, two years ago, she wasn’t a no good whore, she used to be nice, then she met the populars,” I responded sadly, “come on let’s go find Aish.
We found Aish sitting on the steps, impatiently. He turned as he heard the doors open behind him noticing the two girls. “Where the hell have you been?” he sounded annoyed.
“Library, dickhead,” April replied. Not wanting to hear them bicker, I started to walk away and head home.
“Hey! Mel! Where are you going?” April called after me.
“I have a headache, I’m gonna walk home.”
“Okay, see you tomorrow.” April and Aish walked in the opposite direction, still bickering away.
‘Finally peace and quiet,’ I thought happily. Not really wanting to go home, I walked at a slow pace, I could hear faint footsteps behind me so I stopped and turned around, no one was there. “Great, I’m hearing things,” I groaned, I started walking a bit faster than before. When I heard a ‘crunch’ I sprinted home, arriving twenty minutes earlier then usual, running inside I locked the door behind me.
I went to the window in the lounge room and looked out into the neighbourhood, nothing, absolutely nothing.
“Great my imagination is running wild,” I complained.
“You’re talking to yourself.....” I felt like I nearly jumped out of her skin, I turned around to find Forest standing there, looking at me like I'm some kind of alien.
“You’re also very jumpy, today.”
“Yeah well, it happens when I’m tired.”
I headed to my room, dropped my bag on the floor and plonked myself on my queen-sized bed. “Only two more years of that hell hole, and that stuck up whore named Kelly,” I sighed.
I fell asleep, day dreaming about Erik Moore.
