I had been sitting around all day. Waiting. A part of me expected to see Murdoc burst through the door and rescue me from the darkness he's caused. But, nothing. Nothing happened. I was alone.
My room was cold and my spirit was completely broken. I flipped on the TV. Some dumb reality show was on. They were all in some night club. Getting drunk and making mistakes. They looked happy.
I knew what I had to do. I got in the shower and scrubbed all my tears away. I dried my hair, got dressed, and went out.
Once I got to the club, I began to get shy. I sat in the corner by myself and had a soda. I stared around and saw people smiling, dancing, laughing, heading to the bathroom to fuck. None of these people were me.
I scooted out of the booth I sat in and started heading for the door. As I stepped outside I lit up a cigarette and leaned against the building.
"Hey," I heard a raspy voice say. It scared me but I acted like it didn't.
"H-hi," I said shyly.
"You okay?" The man asked.
"...I been better, " I sighed.
"Cigarette?" The man offered. I took it and he lit it for me and lit himself one. "I'm Jude,"
"Stu. Or D as my friends call me,"
"You don't seem very happy, Stu. Wanna go for a ride and talk about it?" He offered. It started to snow. If I didn't go, I'd have to wait for a bus to get back home. I shook my head yes and we got up. He put his arm around me and we headed to his car.
