A Quest...?

I woke up, but nobody else was awake. After the eventful past few days, I didn't expect to wake up this early.

Will came over to my bunk and whispered, "Annabeth's going to give you the tour after breakfast. She'll introduce you to a lot of other campers and show you around. You should probably start getting ready."

"Okay."

I didn't really have another change of clothes, but Will had already beat me to it.

"Here's a Camp Half-Blood shirt and some jeans. This will do for now, but we'll get you something else later."

"Thanks."

He handed me the jeans and shirt and walked back off to his bunk.

I rummaged through the sack of things I'd grabbed from home. My mom had started telling me to go away more and more often, and so I'd prepared. I had a few toiletries stuffed inside, along with a pair of black leggings. They had been meant for sleeping in, and that's probably what they'd be used for.

I grabbed a brush from my bag and brushed my hair. Most of my siblings were ready to go already.

I changed and sat on my bed, waiting for everyone. A couple minutes later, we headed out to the dining pavilion.

After getting my meal, I nearly raced to the brazier. I wanted to thank my dad for claiming me, and I really wanted to thank him for noticing me. It seemed like that had never happened before, someone noticing me.

Thanks dad, for claiming me. Hopefully you gave me good archery powers?

I scraped a good portion of everything into the brazier then joined my cabin at table 7.

"Have a good sleep?" Asked a girl across the table with ginger hair.

"Yea. Thanks for accepting me," I replied.

"Of course! You're our sister, after all. I'm Kayla, by the way. Kayla Knowles.

"I love that name. I'm y/n."

"That's pretty too. I've always felt like my name is so basic."

"But it's not!" I laughed.

"Whatever you say," she said, laughing.

Things were looking good. That is until a red-haired girl in tattered painter's jeans and Chiron came into the mess hall, both looking worried.

Most campers looked concerned and had stopped eating. Way to help my nerves.

"There has been a new prophecy. Rachel?" Chiron asked, motioning for the girl next to him to speak.

Rachel began to speak, reciting a "prophecy," as Chiron had called it.

"Music and fire will take a fall,
The chances of surviving are small;

A sword will threaten to pierce her heart,
Her arrows will fly like a dart;

The boy of fire will wait too long,
He will not resist the siren's song;

Three heroes must save the sacred ring,
Many gifts will the lost blessing bring."

When she stopped, Chiron, Rachel, and almost all of Camp-Half Blood was staring at me.

"Y/n, after much thought, Rachel and I have agreed that you are the music to the prophecy. It's too much of a coincidence that you have arrived at camp and been claimed," said Chiron.

"And Leo," he continued, "you are the boy of fire, of course. Do you both accept this quest?"

I sat still, shocked for a minute. I cast a look at Leo, who was trying to convince me with his facial expressions to say yes.

How could I? I'd only been at camp for a day. I had no training, and I didn't even know how half the world of demigods worked. But of course I was curious, and Leo looked confident.

"I accept," said Leo, standing.

"I accept," I followed, standing as well.

"Very well," began Chiron, "Unless the prophecy tells us otherwise, we always send three demigods on a quest. So, y/n and Leo, who will it be?"
