This Ends Tonight/Chapter Thiry Six

Niall and I had a long discussion about me being super safe when it came to provoking Connor. After that I went to work. I got there and I was more nervous than ever. Mark definitely noticed.

"Hey. You ok?" He asked after I finished ringing up a customer.

"Yes I'm good. Niall and I decided tonight we're gonna get rid of Conor, for good" I said. He looked worried.

"How?" He asked.

"I'm going over there after I leave here and tell him the truth, if he tries to hurt me we're just gonna call the cops" I lied, praying he would believe me.

"That sounds really dangerous" he said.

"I hope it won't be" I simply said as I shrugged my shoulders. Mark didn't answer, he just looked at me, then hugged me. After that the rest of the day seemed to fly by way quicker then I wanted it to.

"Is Conor on his way?" Mark asked.

"Yea he just texted me" I said.

"You be careful. You hear me? Don't let him hurt you. If at any point he gets violent, you quickly call the cops" he said sternly.

"Ok, I will. I promise" I said as I walked to the back to clock out. Connor called as I put the last few numbers in.

"Hello?" I said as I answered the phone.

"Hey beautiful, I'm here" he said. Just the sound of his voice made we want to run to mark, tell him I was too scared to do this, then run out the back door. I calmed myself though.

"Ok I'm coming now" I said as calm as I could but it wasn't calm enough.

"What's wrong babe?" He asked.

"Nothing I'm good. Just a little worried about that test I took this morning" I lied quickly.

"Oh well as long as you studied, you'll do great" he said encouragingly.

"Yea you're right. I'm coming out now" I told him as I walked towards the door.

"Ok" he simply said then hung up. As I walked to the door I passed Mark and he gave me a reassuring look. I waved goodbye and walked out the door. When I got outside, Connor was standing outside the car waiting for me. I mentally took a deep breath and smiled.

"Hey" I simply said as I waved.

"Hey baby. How was work?" He asked as he opened the door and I stepped in.

'It would've been better if I wasn't dreading seeing you all day but it was ok' I said to in my head.

"It was ok. A little busy but ok" I said and smiled.

"Have you eaten?" He asked.

"Not since before I left for work but I'm good" I lied. I felt bad thinking the last time he spent money it was gonna be on me.

"That was hours ago!" He shouted and it startled me.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you but you need to eat something" he said as he pulled into subway. It was on the same plaza as the bookstore.

"Ok I'll eat" I said still feeling scared.

"Ok let's go" he said as he parked. We went in and I ordered my fav sandwich. It was the subway I always go to so they knew my order. We were in and out pretty quickly.

"Thank you" I said as we got back in his car.

"Don't thank me. You're my baby, I gotta take care of you" he said and that kind of hurt my heart considering what was about to go on. I started to feel bad and kind like I didn't want to do it, but I know I had to. I had a child to think about.
