Chapter 33

Ashton’s P.O.V

I was sitting down watching TV with Luke and Claire but my mind was thinking about Anna, She’s been gone for at least an hour since our little fight. I didn’t know why I got into an argument with her I guess I was just scared that she was going to say yes going to Paris and leaving me behind and fall in love with some French guy. Liz rushed into the living room and Luke stood up and said

“Mum, what’s wrong”?

“It’s….It’s”

“Mum, why don’t you sit down”

“There’s no time for that Luke, your sister was just in a car crash and now she’s in hospital” my head shot up when Liz mentioned car crash

“Shit” Luke said

“We’re going to the hospital now” When Liz mention that I stood up and went straight to the car and soon Luke was right behind me, this was all my fault if I didn’t overacted to something so stupid then Anna would have never been in hospital.

Once Liz pulled up to the hospital I quickly got out of the car running towards the doors and to the front desk. The lady looked up at me and before she said a word I said

“Anna Hemmings, where is she”?

“Hang on a second sir” I knew I had to wait but I just couldn’t, I kept looking around the hospital waiting for the lady to come up with the information. Soon I felt someone put there arm around me and I saw Luke standing there giving me a small smile. I think Luke had it worse because his been in this situation before. The whole family was standing at the desk and the lady said

“Here we are, Anna Hemmings she was in a car crash earlier she drove through a red light and she was going to quick and a driver ran into her but not on her side of the car but she hasn’t woken up yet”

“Can we see her”? I asked

“I’m sorry kid, but we have a policy that it’s best for parents to go first”

“I understand” Everyone sat down and Liz and Andrew went with the nurse. I lifted my legs up to my chest, I needed to see her.

“Everything will be okay” I looked up looking at Luke, if only he knew what happened between us this morning it’s all my fault.

Luke’s P.O.V

I can’t believe this was happening again, I can’t lose the only sister I have. Ben and Jack were with mum and dad, I didn’t know if I wanted to go in there if I did I would burst into tears.

“Luke, everything is going to be fine” Claire said holding my hand, I shook my head and looked at Claire

“No it’s not; it’s not the first time we’ve been to the hospital”

“Luke, your sister is going to be fine”

“But what if she isn’t”?

“I don’t know” Claire said looking at the ground, Ashton was asleep and he seemed so worried wondering what’s going to happen. I saw mum, dad, Jack and Ben walk into the lobby and I stood up with Claire by my side.

“How is she”?

“She hasn’t woken up yet”

“Oh” I said looking down at the ground.

“Do you want to go see her”? Jack asked, I looked up at him not sure what to say. Claire put her hand on my shoulder and said

“Luke, go” I nodded and I said

“I’ll go by myself” I stood up walking with the nurse to Anna’s room. When I walked inside I saw Anna laying in the bed her eyes were shut and all I heard was the beeping I sat down next to her and looked at my poor sister, she’s been through so much and it’s not fair. What if I lose her the first time was lucky but this time we might not get a second chance. I held my sisters hand and I said

“I wish you would wake up sis, I don’t know if I could live without you” I rested my head on her bed looking at Anna. I felt Anna’s hand grip onto mine and I looked up at her seeing she was slowly waking up. I wanted to run out into the lobby and tell everyone she’s awake but I’ll give her some time.

“Anna”

“Luke” she opened her eyes with a smile on her face

“Thank god you’re alright”

“What happened”?

“You got into a car crash” I said, Anna’s eyes widen and said

“Where’s Ashton”?

“Anna, Anna his fine, his in the lobby sleeping and he hasn’t really spoken to anyone.

“He probably thinks that this is all his fault”

“What do you mean”?

“Ashton and I had a fight and I wasn’t thinking and that’s why I got in the car”

“Why did you get into a fight”?

“Ashton found a form that Ben gave to me and that was pastry school”

“Anna that’s awesome you should go” I said smiling at my sister

“But here’s the catch, the school is in Paris”

“Paris”?!

“Yeah”

“I know I will miss you heaps but I think it’s such a great place to go”

“I do want to go but Ashton”

“Anna, I’m sure Ashton would understand”

“Luke you should have seen him this morning he was freaking out”

“He was freaking out because his scared about you leaving him behind”

“Oh” she said looking down playing with her thumbs “Maybe I should” she took a deep breath and she said “Maybe I should break up with him”

“Anna”

“No, it’s for the best I mean he won’t have to worry about me anymore and find someone better”

“But”

“I’ve made up my mind” Anna said not looking happy with herself.

“Okay, if you think that’s best I’ll go get him”

“Thank you” I kissed her forehead and said

“I’m glad you’re fine”

“Same” I turned back around to get Ashton, knowing this wasn’t going to end well.
