"I'm Sorry"

"Tate I'm home!" Luke yelled as I was doing my homework.

"Ok." I shouted back. I was about to do my algebra homework when I realized my book was sitting in my locker. Well shit. The one time I don't bring my book home.

I texted Gray and asked him if he had his book. Dani and him had gone out together and clearly I said no, but good thing they gave me their numbers. He had responded back a few minutes later saying that it was in his room and that I can just go in and get it.

I went out and told Luke that I would be back in a few. I walked up to the door and nervously knocked, only because I don't know how Ethan is going to act. It's already awkward between us thanks to me, well at least I think it is.

The door opened up and of course it was Ethan, since he's the only one here.

"Um Gray said I could borrow his book." I said. He opened the door more allowing me to come in.

"Where is his room?" I asked turning to look at Ethan. He rolled his eyes and lead the way upstairs to his room. He showed me Gray's room, I grabbed the book following Ethan back down as he sat on the couch. I was about to leave, but stopped in my tracks.

I walked back over to where the couch was, he glanced over at me and then back at the tv. Clearly he wasn't going to speak, so I decided to break the silence.

"Why do you act like this? I haven't done anything to you, and you treat me like shit! I just wanted to be your friend." I finally let out how I feel towards him. He sat there silently still paying attention to the tv. I scoffed and rolled my eyes, wondering why I even tried.

"I'm sorry."

I froze in my tracks when I heard him talk. I really didn't expect him to say anything.

"I'm sorry for saying the things I said and acting like that towards you. You're right you never should've been treated like that, but I never asked for you to be my friend!" He answered, now standing up.

"Well everyone could have a friend, and plus we didn't have to be friends I was just trying to be nice since I'm new here."My anger slowly rising.

"Well I don't want to be your friend! I don't want to be anyone's friend! Get that through your head and leave me alone!" He yelled.

I've never been yelled at like that and I'd be lying if I said it didn't hurt me. Tears slowly welled up in my eyes, Ethan clearly noticed since his facial features softened.

"T-"

"No, you know what forget it, we don't have to be friends, I'll never talk to you ever again! You can keep going on with your miserable life and be lonely. People have tried caring for you, but you don't give a shit about anything, so I don't give a shit about you." I could see his eyes getting glossy before I left, which made me a little upset but I was so mad about what he said.

"Tate what took you so long?" Luke asked coming downstairs. I quickly wiped my eyes so that no tears would fall.

"Sorry, I was trying to find my friend's book."

I decided to make a quick dinner since mom wasn't back yet. After Luke and I had dinner i went upstairs, took a shower, and slowly fell into a deep sleep.
