"The Only Bad Part Was That I Lost My Lemonade"

"Laney and Neels are coming too." Dani said looking up from her phone. We finally made it to the carnival, the lights made the place bright since it was kind of dark out.

"Who's Laney and Neels?" I asked stepping out of the car and onto the dirt ground.

"Only the lamest people ever, don't worry you'll love them!" Gray said faking a smile. I laughed as Dani nudged his arm.

"Yooo!!" A males voice was soon heard. I turned around seeing a guy with blonde hair, he was wearing a black sweatshirt and jeans. Next to him was a girl also with blonde hair, they were holding hands together.

Greaattt this is a date.

As they were all catching up, I stood there smiling trying to act like I was a part of the conversation.

"E, my man you finally got a girl!" Neels said.

Ethan stood there awkwardly.

"Uh, I'm Tatum and Ethan and I aren't dating." I introduced myself to Neels.

"Oh my bad, I thought Ethan finally broke out of his shell." He sighed, shaking my hand.

"Hey! I'm Laney, I love your hair by the way!" She introduced herself to me, and gave me a hug instead of shaking my hand. I hugged her back while laughing a bit, and thanked her for the compliment.

We all paid for our own wristbands, I looked around deciding on what ride the group would want to go on first.

"So, what ride do you wanna go on first?" I asked the group.

"We're gonna go on the ferris wheel." Laney said, pulling Neels with her. I watched them go and decided on asking Gray and Dani.

"D-" I stopped my sentence when I turned around seeing no one there besides a bored looking Ethan. This day keeps getting better and better.

"Wanna hangout T, come on it'll be fun." I mocked what Dani said from before and rolled my eyes.

"Well I'm gonna go get food." Ethan nodded and leaned against a fence as I made my way to a food truck thing. (A/N: idk what they're called lmao).

I got an elephant ear and a lemonade, I walked back seeing Ethan surrounded by a group of people. I walked closer kind of hearing what they were saying.

"Yo Dolan, got nothing to say? Lil bitch ass." The guys were messing with him and shoving him every which way. He obviously just wanted to leave peacefully but they kept shoving him back.

"Hey! Dickwads stop!" I yelled stepping in front.

"What's a little, tiny ass girl gonna do about it?" He questioned getting in my face.

I threw my lemonade drink at his face, he bent over in pain from the lemons.

"What the fuck! You stupid bitch!" He shouted in pain.

"Stop being a dickhole and leave him alone!" I shouted as him and his friends all walked off. I took a few deep breaths and looked at Ethan. Even though I don't talk to him, and that he probably hates me I still want to know if he's okay.

"Ethan, are you okay?" I asked hesitantly. He nodded, and then a few seconds later he let out a sigh.

"I'm fine, my back is just sore." He looked at me and gave me a side smile. I sort of smiled back.

"Thanks Tatum, for sticking up for me." He said.

"The only bad part was that I lost my lemonade" I replied.

"I wasn't exactly talking about that." He scratched the back of his neck, looking at me.

"What do yo-"

"Tyler." He replied.

"Damn it, I'm going to kill Gray!" I said.

"Actually Dani told me." He cleared his throat worried about how I was gonna respond.

"Then I'm going to kill them both." I said, while looking at all the rides and people smiling and laughing.

"Tatum, I'm really sorry about the way I've been treating you, I hope that we can become friends?" He asked. I looked up at him shocked that he wanted to be friends...with me.

"Can I ask why you shut everyone out?" I asked, looking at him from the corner of my eye. He coughed and looked around.

"Do you want to go on a ride, since we're here?" He asked, changing the subject. He obviously doesn't want to talk about it, and I wasn't going to pressure him to tell me.

"Yea, sure! Let's go on the Tilt-A-Whirl." I grabbed his hand pulling him towards the ride.

-a few rides later-

Ethan and I went on a lot more rides laughing and having the time of our lives. I never thought Ethan could ever be this happy, but I'm glad.

"Why are you staring at me?" He asked, giving me a weird look, while smiling at me.

"I'm just shocked." I told him.

"About.." He trailed off, wanting me to continue.

"I'm just shocked to see you so happy," I said.

After I said that Dani texted me saying that they were leaving.

"Dani said that they're ready to leave," I told Ethan and he nodded.

"Hey guys," Gray said as he saw us walking.

"Why does Ethan look so happy?" Dani whispered to me.

"Because he just is." I shrugged, Dani and Gray gave each other confused looks.
