I grabbed my bike from the garage, swinging my leg over. I sat on the seat and pushed of the ground. I rode down the road slowly, taking my time. Next thing I know Bill is to my right, Stan and Eddie are to my left, and Richie is behind me.
"What are you guys doing?" I asked.
"Riding with you. You didn't wait." Eddie said.
"Sorry, My mind is kind of scattered." I told him.
"Tomorrow is the last day of school bitches!" Richie rode ahead.
I smiled as I petalled hard, passing him. We crossed the street, to the school. I hopped off my bike as they sped over.
"What are we doing this summer anyway?" I asked.
"Well S-S-Saturday we could g-go to the Quarry." Bill told us as we book our bikes on the rack.
"Quarry?" I asked.
"It's a big ass lake thing." Richie said.
"And you just go swim in it?" I asked.
"No, we go and stare at it." Stan said.
I hit the back of his head, "Don't get sarcastic."
"Okay, fine." He said. "I'll see you guys after school."
He walked to his classroom. The rest of us began walking to our classroom. Richie put his arm around me.
"You're going to spend this summer the right way, here in Derry, Maine." He said.
I pushed his arm off of me, "Don't make me slap you again."
"Do it sweet cheeks." He said, turning his face for me.
I slapped it, but very lightly.
"That was nothing." He said.
"Wasn't trying to hurt you this time." I said.
The bell rang and we walked inside the classroom, taking our seats.
-------------
At lunch, we were sitting outside.
"It feels nice out here." I said.
"Just like Eddie's mom." Richie said.
"Okay, ew." I laughed.
I watched as a girl named Beverly Marsh walked by. I didn't know her, but I heard plenty of things about her. That's when some older kids walked over, pushing Stan's lunch to the ground.
"How are you losers doing?" The kid asked, then his eyes landed on me. "What's this? A girl?"
"What, never seen one so close before?" I asked.
"Feisty princess." He said, grabbing my potato chips, dumping them on the ground. I gasped.
"Who the hell do you think you are?" I asked, standing up.
"Sadie." Richie grabbed my arm.
"Oh, you're his girl friend!"
"No, I'm not." I said, ripping my arm away. "What makes you think it's okay to throw our food on the ground?"
"What are you going to do about it?"
I lifted my arm to slap him, but he grabbed my arm. He twisted it.
"Ow." I cried. "Stop!"
"Get off of her!" Richie yelled.
I saw my brother, running over.
