We walked through a grass field, Richie still had my hand in his, our fingers laced together. Except now he wasn't dragging me, I was at the same pace he was.

"Thanks guys, but you shouldn't have done that. He'll be after you too now." Mike said.

"Ah, n-n-no, Bowers has always been after us."

"I guess that's one th-th-thing we all have in common."

"Yeah home school." Richie said. "Welcome to the loser's club."

I laughed as Richie looked at me.

-------------

We got into town where there was a parade going on. Richie had taken one of the marching band member's horn. I watched as he played it. The band kid trying to get it back.

They restled back and forth for it until the kid ripped the instrument from Richie.

"What the fuck dude?" Richie said as the kid walked off. He walked over to me as Eddie came around the corner.

"What are you guys talking about?" Eddie asked.

"What they always talk about." Richie said, grabbing the second ice cream from Eddie.

"I actually think it will end." Ben said. "For a little while at least."

"What do you mean?" Beverly asked as I grabbed Richie hand with the ice cream in it. I licked the tip of the ice cream as he stared at me.

"That was mine." He said.

"I wanted some." I said.

"So I was going over all my Derry research and I charted out all the big events. The ironworks explosion in 1908. The Bradley Gang in '35. And The Black Spot in '62. And now people being...." He looked to me and Bill. "I realized all this stuff seems to happen every..."

"27 years." Bill said with him.

-------------

"Wait, so let me get this straight. IT comes out from wherever to eat kids for like a year and then what? IT just goes into hibernation."

"Maybe it's like... What do you call it?" Stan pondered. "Cicadas. You know, the bugs that come out every 17 years."

"My grandfather thinks this town is cursed." Mike said. "He says that all the bad things that happened in this town are because of one thing. An evil thing that feeds off the people of Derry."

"But it can't be one thing." Stan said. "We all saw something different."

"Maybe." Mike said. "Or maybe it knows what scares us most and that's what we see."

"I-I saw a leper. He was like a walking infection." Eddie said.

"But you didn't." Stan adds. "Because IT isn't real. None of this is. Not Eddie's leper, or Bill seeing Georgie, Sadie seeing her mom or the woman I keep seeing."

"Is she hot?" Richie asked.

"No, Richie. She's not hot. Her face is all messed up. None of this makes any sense. They're all like bad dreams."

"I don't think so, I know the difference between a bad dream and real life, okay?" Mike said.

"What did you see? You saw something too?" Eddie asked. I looked across the the open field and saw my aunt Julia.

"I'll be right back." I said and got up, running over. "Julia!"

She saw me, "I've been looking for you all over!"

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Jack called me and asked if I'd come check in on you two. I already saw Alec, he said you'd be here with your friends."

"Yeah, I said. I was just with them when I saw you." I told her.

"Where are they?" She asked. I turned and pointed to the boys and Beverly.

"Still hanging around those boys?"

"They're nice guys." I said. "Are you staying at the house?"

"Just for the night dear."

"Okay, I'll see you later." I said and ran back over to the boys.

"Was that your aunt?" Richie asked.

I nodded, "She's staying the night with us." I said, crossing my arms.

"So you're okay to sleep in your room again?"

"Not for a while." I said.
