**Emma's pov**
As she read Liz's note aloud she knew one thing; her mother didn't have long left so she wanted to spend every waking hour with her mother, to just savor their time left together and didn't miss the chance to say goodbye for the final time. She would never forgive herself if she wasn't there.
However, she also had work and she couldn't have too much time off as she couldn't run the risk of being fired and the whole host of problems related with that. She also wanted to go to university and become a doctor as she wanted to do more than just answer the phone for the rest of her life. It was possible as she had the money saved and she could switch to being part-time as she had discussed with her boss and there was no time like the present to switch to that now in order to spend more time with her mother.
After a phone call and a meeting booked for tomorrow, all she had to worry about was her mother. After all the stress the potdoll had once again slipped from her mind and Adrian was filling that space.
Liz had approved and that meant her mother also would so she had the go ahead but if it ended badly she would have to hold Liz back that was for sure. It felt wrong because here her mother was and here she was getting involved. But at the end of the day her mother wants her to be happy and as she used to say "life goes on" so Emma had to push that guilt aside.
