**Emma's pov**

She stayed up thinking about the doll and if she would ever get it back so she could see if it was involved somehow. Things did keep going wrong once she got it, all she wanted to do now was smash it. She knew why the last owner had gotten rid of it, it was bad luck or cursed maybe both. She figured if she told the police the doll was a gift she could have it back. She went to bed feeling uneasy that night and guilty as to why he took it in the first place and asking him to stay. It may have started up again and he took it or he thought it looked good, no he would have asked it had to be the first option. She needed that doll back.

**Liz' pov**

Once she reached home she called Emma to see how she was holding up she had had so much happen to her already without an explanation of what caused this chain of events. She offered Emma the sofa or offered to stay there but she refused both. So, she did the only thing she could; offer her condolences and get to bed herself.

(the next day)

**Emma's pov**

She awoke to her phone going off and she noticed it was an unknown number but she answered anyway. It turned out to be the police telling her it was okay to enter the house and pick up what she wanted, and they would get rid of the rest as he had no parents or siblings and the rest of his relatives weren't bothered and the police would get in contact with someone to sell the house. She felt frustrated that his family didn't care and all the police wanted to do was sell the house on but was glad that at least herself and Liz did care before...she couldn't finish that thought. But then she thought she was being inconsiderate all she cared about was a doll and he boyfriend had just been murdered. It should have been her it was all she could think about. She broke down and slept. When she did wake up again it was early evening; she called Liz and told her about what the police had said on the phone to her and Liz agreed Adrian had been lucky to have them and said she would accompany her to Adrian's for the last time.

An hour later they arrived, she had the doll, a couple of pictures of them together she didn't know he had taken or printed, some of his hoodies and left. She was determined to solve this she was sure it had something to do with the doll. She still had so many questions and one was: what would happen if it reached the top of the stairs?

Then there was what happened to Adrian; no forced entry or stolen items, which the police said he had to have known them and let them in or given a key to them. He had been a very private person so he may not have shared it with anyone. There were also a lack of fingerprints and other evidence at the scene which meant gloves but a house guest wouldn't wear them it wasn't cold enough it was summer.

**Sadie's pov**

She felt she had to stay away as it could protect her friends and allow her to concentrate better as he friends could pressure her or not believe her yet. However, she knew that had been a mistake, hell it had been worse. She had heard about Susan's accident and visited her after hours, an arrangement with the staff and told Susan what she thought was going on and a promise to keep everyone safe, she had also met Adrian a couple of times and told him not to tell anyone as she wanted to and it wouldn't look very good on him anyway meeting up with her after hours to discuss Susan's health, she should have been doing it with Emma.

She had also been at the funeral and made sure the trio hadn't seen her. That day wasn't the right one to cause a scene or the drama to come out, she had left as the curtains had closed so her friends hadn't seen her and dealt with the grief on her own as she had brought the situation on herself. She had also heard about Adrian's death and knew she hadn't kept her promise to keep everyone safe, she had failed. Now she had to face the wrath and come clean to her friends, if they still were...
