Isra, Kuriboh and Atem

Isra watched as the Celtic Guardians attack was reflected back at Atem she fought the hold the virtual land had on her with all her might and rushed over to his side worried "Atem!!"  she says softly with a worried tone as she gently grips his shoulders helping him stand and he looks up at her with a pained smile as he looks into her worried eyes and says softly  "I'm alright"  he reaches up and softly slides his hand up her cheek she smiles sadly back at him her eyes widen just a little "Yugi!?!"  she whispers softly Atem looks at her and his eyes widen as well "what happens to you happens to him too remember!?!.... is he....!?!..... are you alright Yugi!?!"  she asks "I'm fine Isra"  she hears Yugi say and she nods uncertain but let's it slide.... for now.... as she lets go of Atem and turns to face his opponent "that wasn't there before!"  Atem hears her soft voice say and he looks over at Gansley's half of the dueling field where the Wall of Illusion now stands and Gansley was talking whilst being ignored by the other 2 and he was ignoring what they were saying while he enjoyed the sound of his own voice "your life points are falling faster than the stock market in 1929 Yugi! that makes two direct hits three strikes and your out! then you can take a nap surprised by how real this duel feels? it may be virtual but it takes more of a toll on you than the duels you're used to doesn't it?"  Atem orders "explain yourself!"  Gansley as he stares at the newest monster on the field "while you were flirting with your lady friend that will soon be mine so I shall forgive you.... this time!.... I seized the opportunity to strengthen my team! I feel it's best to get ahead when your rival is down!.... or in this case distracted.... so I sacrificed my Ruklamba allowing me to summon Wall of Illusion plus another Ruklamba!"  Gansley replied "you had that move planned all along didn't you?"  Atem asks holding his shoulder and grimacing in pain "of course I did now allow me to introduce to you my newest employee! meet Wall of Illusion! "what are it's strengths?" you ask well any monster foolish enough to attack it is removed from the field immediately and sent back to my opponents hand so you may want to resign now Yugi!"  Gansley answers he laughs then says "well you gave it your best shot my young friend but in the end big business always wins besides I have roamed this virtual void for to long now and you're my ticket out!" ....

As Gansley speaks Atem looks at Isra who has a worried and angry expression on her face her fists clenched so tight that her knuckles are white and there are tiny drops of blood dripping down her fingers he reaches over and gently covers her hand with his own and her grip loosens just a little bit "it's not over Gansley so don't make your travel plans yet"  he says as he feels her body calm just a little bit Gansley chuckles then says "keep your false hope.... you'll be that much more disappointed when you plunge into defeat"  he laughs Atem was surprised that Isra hasn't spoken she's usually very vocal when it comes to expressing herself and her beliefs but maybe she's afraid that she will only make things worse.... she wanted to.... she had A LOT to say to Gansley and she wanted to comfort Kuriboh when Gansley said those rude words to him cause she knew he takes everything people say to heart.... he is still but a child to the world.... but she was glad that he seemed much happier now she loved the innocence that the Kuriboh personified.... Atem rubs the palm of Isra's hand gently and can feel the fingernail marks that she dug into her skin he looks at her sadly as Gansley continues "you and your pitiful deck master! that pathetic pom pom is useless!"  Atem could feel the heat of her anger rise again as Kuriboh squeaks in anger Isra raises her hand and pets him to calm him down and he leans into her gentle scratches happily as Gansley laughs then says "I'm afraid you were doomed from the start!"  Atem replies "you can taunt me all you want Gansley"  he looks over at Kuriboh and Isra as he continues "I'll never give up hope! I trust my deck"  he sees just what he wanted to see Isra smiles softly at him "and I trust my skills! I was insightful enough to assemble an unstoppable arsenal of monsters-- not that it really matters at this point anyway I've rendered you so weak you'll be out of life points before my next turn allowing me to finally return to civilization.... while your mind is virtually scattered throughout cyberspace!"  Gansley proclaims "everything has a weakness.... yours just happens to be that humongously self righteous ego!"  Isra mutters to herself Atem chuckles she looks at him apologetically and he looks confused "I tried!.... I don't understand how this world has so much control over what I do.... I tried getting up.... and it kept pushing me down.... I tried speaking but no words came out.... I wanted to....!"  she whispers softly as she pets Kuriboh and he coos happily as she continues "comfort you Kuri.... but.... I couldn't!"  Kuriboh rubs up against her cheek and she smiles Atem lightly squeezes her hand and she turns to him with a sad smile on her face as he says softly "I had wondered.... it's ok Isra.... we'll figure this out.... together!"....
