Atem felt Isra's presence behind him as he rode Rebecca's horse Copernicus towards Death Valley for the duel "this feels familiar!"  he hears her say in a soft silky smooth smokey tone as she wraps her arms around his waist he chuckles and says "to you maybe.... it is a nice feeling though!"  he feels her smile up against his back as she hugs her body close to his "really nice!"   he whispers then he asks out loud with a worried tone "can anyone see you!?!"  he feels her shake her head and he sighs in relief "Copernicus can feel me though.... didn't want him to think you had gotten heavier and try to throw you off!"  she teases as she pets the horses flank he chuckles.... a few minutes later Atem takes Isra's hand and they jump off the horse together Isra pats Copernicus on the nose and he neighs softly "very impressive cowboy but you'll need more than a few rodeo tricks to get yourself out of this you see while my associates are satisfied with stealing the souls of your friends I'm not"  a familiar male voice says.... they didn't know his name but they remembered his voice from the very first duel with one of the Orichalcos minions.... as they walked across the rickety wooden bridge hand in hand "I did my part now release the professor as you promised"  Atem replies as soon as they reach solid ground and stand before the blonde biker "he's already been set free but since you've come all this way you might as well stay awhile"  the blonde says he pulls off his cloak, picks two axes up off the ground beside him then throws them they spin around Atem who hugs Isra to him and the axes hit the bridge destroying it then the blonde says "so you're gonna stick around right? cause like I said before pharaoh your friends aren't good enough I need to capture the soul of the pharaoh himself so I can save the world"  Isra whispers "Dartz will not be pleased with his insubordinate behavior!.... wait!.... what!?!.... save the....!?! by the rites of Anubis what sort of garbage has he been feeding them!?!"  Atem lets out a short hum like chuckle then says "save the world? don't you see that what you're doing is going to destroy the world? our are you so insane that you can't tell the difference?"  Isra replies softly "insane no.... easily manipulated.... possibly!.... look at all the people he chooses!.... people with sad life stories who may believe that they have nothing to lose.... or something to gain.... Mai wanted to win, Alister lost his family to a war that never should have happened and wanted revenge.... I don't know the other two or their stories but I'm sure they're somewhat alike.... maybe the need to have a home or some guidance was so strong that they....!"  she stops talking when she feels Atem squeeze her hand "I'm just fine it's you who's blind to what's going on you're fighting on the wrong side"  the blonde replies "explain yourself"  Atem orders "this world's a dark and lonely place to live it's been poisoned by mankind all I'm trying to do is fix what's been ruined by people like you and I'll do it by locking you spirit away for good"  the blonde replies "who do you think you are?"  Atem asks "look the name's Rafael and I called you here to duel not shoot the breeze I've waited for this moment long enough and I have no intention of putting our fight off for another minute so let's go"  the blonde replies "you've given me no choice but know this in the end righteousness will prevail and justice shall be served"  Atem says as the sun starts to rise "that's just what I'm hoping for"  Rafael replies as the two men begin the duel this duel was different from all the others one Isra did not stand at Atem's side during the duel and two both Yugi and Atem could sense something different about Rafael "he's a Spirit Partner!"  Isra says with a soft surprised tone "it's as rare a gift now as it was back in our time.... he can see Duel Monster spirits.... what happened to you!?!"  she asks in a soft voice.... "you could never understand the connection I have with my cards pharaoh"  Rafael says "I'm afraid you're mistaken I also share a bond with my deck I trust and respect every one of my cards"  Atem replies "oh yeah? well take a look at these"  Rafael says as he shows the cards he had laid on his chaos duel disk and they looked quite warn out and he continues "I've played these cards hundreds of times and even though they're falling apart I'll never replace them I've sworn to protect them the way they protected me cause twelve years ago these monsters saved my life when I was a kid I was fooled into believing the world was a happy place but soon I discovered the truth that nothing's fair and no one gets what they deserve" ....
